Solid finals, not quite up to par with the excitement of last year's at least for me, but definitely not the worst I've ever seen.
125: Escobedo deserved to win the match, he did a great job staying tough and converting on TD's on his feet. That being said I thought hitting Ness for stalling 25 seconds into the third period was ridiculous especially when he was the aggressor for the first two periods. That took away an aspect of Ness' game really quickly.
133: Was glad to see Scott win his title, especially over this particular opponent.
141: Jaggers did a nice job peaking in that break from Big 10's up to NCAA's. People have been saying, and they're truly right that in the second half of the season few guys wrestled better than he did.
149: Pretty much said my piece earlier in the thread.
Metcalf is good. Bubba came to wrestle, but he just doesn't have an answer for
Metcalf's short offense yet. Hopefully some of the jackals don't wind up getting on him too bad for this one. That five point move at the end of the second was key for
Metcalf.
157: Leen wrestled the exact match he had to to pull off the upset. Like I said earlier again, I thought the fleeing the mat call was the right one, but I also thought that Poeta had a TD when he came back around and countered.
165: Suffice it to say, the outcome here wasn't the one that I was looking for.
174: Glad to see Gavin get his title. With Mendes and Varner losing I think that takes away any doubt on who gets the Hodge.
184: Boring match, and I really didn't have a rooting interest. Pucillo stalled, but Varner couldn't do anything about it. Nice job by Pucillo getting off bottom quickly every time so he could stall, and Varner couldn't.
197: Glad to see Davis get his title, been on his bandwagon since he was a sophomore.
285: About what you expected from the heavies. I was kind of rooting for Bergman, but Fox did the job.
