Just realized that Smith now goes against Kish to AA. This is a killer for me to watch. I guess for me it is win/win or lose/lose, however it rolls. Really want to see Kish finish strong, but the the team title out reach...I'd love to see Smith have the chance to AA 4 times. Should be a good match but I'm picking Smith.

The arm drag occasionally worked, but not many people outside of gradeschool and early highschool will give that up due to footwork and hand control.

I have been sitting here in one part shock and one part expecting this. This season has been a tough one and while it is easy to use the (justified) injury excuse...MN didn't earn it today. Other teams like Iowa definitely have, though it is hard to respect that performance when their coaching staff acts life ferrets on crystal meth (blatently ripped off movie line, I know). WE GET IT, YOU'RE FIERY AND EMOTIONAL! YOU PLAY BY YOUR OWN SET OF RULES. WE GET IT!

Gable was all of those things and still garnered respect because of his knowing that it wasn't done out of disrespect or for personal acknowledgment. Just my opinion and realize that it pains me to say, but kudos to the Hawkeye wrestlers for their performance.

Here we go Ness, here we go!
What a bummer. Two years ago, I could not have imagined that this tournament would look like this for the Gophers. Let's hope that Ness can beat Donahoe again and that Reiter, Rivera, Dustin, and Kish can gut out some wins in the consolations.

I was laughing when Schwab was at the scorers table calling Tom Ryan a lier for saying that the time on the clock was right at 4 seconds for the restart in the Pucillo/Keddy match.

Are they the only coaching staff that's allowed to run to the middle of the mat to protest a call, and not get a team point deducted?

rick - yes, that is correct. they ARE the only team allowed to protest a call on the mat w/o a point being deducted. there is also a little known rule that if john robinson does the same there are 1.5 points deducted from edinboro's score. seems strange but, it that rule got amended at the last second and was passed before anyone realized that mn. would not be the penalized team when he did it.
