Re: My Daddy raised me......when you get punched.. He's starting to remind me of a younger Bobby Knight! I'm not a big fan of his, however, this is a mean and brutal sport. That's how he is and I didn't mind his response; a little table punching every now and then is good!

I am not sure where or why the adjective "fruity" would be applied to Brand's showing at the press conference. Really doesn't seem to fit. Intense, motivating, driving, might be more descriptive and more accurate. At any rate, although I am not 1st and foremost a Hawkeye fan (although any wrestler growing up in the sport in the 80's & 90's HAS to have some degree of admiration and sense of awe regarding the Iowa program) I am really happy to see that Brands has restored the fire and swagger to the Iowa program. IMO, we need fireball coaches like Brands and John Smith as much as we need intellectual "cool heads" like Cael, Zeke and McCoy and "in-betweeners" like Koll and Ryan. These guys represent the myriad of personalities that make up the majority of wrestlers and presents our true face to the non-wrestling public. What we DON'T need are "bumps on a log" coaches who look like they can't wait for the match to be over so they can be 1st in line for the hot chicken noodle soup in the coach's lounge! Enough of that please!
