Why is Cornell ranked, even though they're 2-5 in dual meets? They have about half their wrestlers ranked, but they've been getting smeared in dual meets. I am pretty new to watching wrestling and I understand scoring within dual meets and within matches, but I don't understand the team ranking system apparently. Can someone explain?
Most rankings take into account how a team will do in a tournament, not in a dual meet. With Cornell's 4 or 5 ranked wrestlers, they will probably win Ivies, will do quite well at EIWAs, and place in the top 20 at NCAAs.
i would reiterate the fact that they have only lost to ranked teams and was stated before, they will most likely win Ivy's and send around 5-7 to Nationals. they will score some points there.

Ivy's ? What Ivies ? Do you mean the dual team title, because there is no Ivy conference tournament. They head right into the EIWA's, which is the conference they are in.
We all no dual team titles are meaningless in the NCAA. I'd have to say there is enough competition in the EIWA tournament to not guarantee Cornell the team title.
