California Baptist University has hired John Petty away from Northwestern College (Orange City, IA) to be their first-ever wrestling coach. They will begin competition in the '08/'09 season. Cal Baptist has won a total of 14 NAIA National championships in Swimming & Diving, Volleyball and Men's Indoor Track. That kind of heritage would seem to bode well for a successful wrestling team.
