    ISU:
10 returning starters from the 3rd place team at NCAAs
#1 overall recruit coming next year
    Fanbase who worships him

    PSU:
    $$$$$ - ?

Really good points all. He'd be giving up a serious title shot.

ISU has seen some good coaches move on in other sports, but none of us ever thought that would happen in wrestling. If Cael is the kind of guy we think he is, he'll most likely stay put. How well do Pollard and Sanderson get along? If Cael chooses to leave, then Pollard should be encouraged to leave very soon thereafter.

I just can't see Cael doing it, doesn't make any sense. I don't know the numbers, but you figure they'd at least have to double his current salary+camp at ISU and when that happens I'm sure ISU would pony up more money. You simply can't let Cael Sanderson get away...

Silly speculation #2 - would they bring back Bobby Douglass? Is he still working at some capacity at ISU?

ISU is supposedly getting an upgrade with the new Rec Center funding. I haven't really followed it since the vote passed last year but that's what I've heard.
You do the math..... I'll do the alfredo!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

This would be great news for PA wrestling. Maybe more PA blue chippers would stay home.

But if Smitty were leaving Mizzou, you'd be crying in your beer. I'd love to make a shitload of cash, but would I give up a strong title shot next year for that? Maybe, but I dunno. I'm not a Clone fan, but even as an Iowan, I'd be unhappy about Cael leaving. With all that talent in PA, why can't they grow their own?

Like I said there could be some 11th hour miracle by Pollard to keep Cael in Ames. I had the discussion yesterday about all the things you listed. Doesn't make sense to me but, I was told it's pretty much a done deal.

ISU's administration will have to step up, losing Cael would set the program way back no matter who they pick up. You have to think David Taylor would jump ship as a minimum...
