The Wolverines need to sweep all six.

I couldn't take another Buckeye vicotory.

Hwt -- Chad Bleske vs. No. 2 J.D. Bergman OH 18-12

125 Triggas could pull this off for a 3-0 lead.
141 Russell might be flawless and avoid the upset.
197 Weakly maybe rebounds from his current slump.

Anyway you figure, it is a close match.

So many good matchups here.. I am really excited. This could be a very close match or could end up being not so close with either team winning. Both teams seem to have good wrestlers at the same weights.

My feeble attempt at predictions:

125 -- Michael Watts DEC vs. Nikko Triggas
133 -- Chris Diehl vs. No. 14 Reece Humphrey MAJ
141 -- #4 Kellen Russell DEC vs. No 10 J Jaggers
149 -- #8 Josh Churella DEC vs. No. 5 Lance Palmer
157 -- Jeff Marsh DEC vs. Jason Johnstone
165 -- #3 Eric Tannenbaum vs. No. 13 Colt Sponseller DEC
174 -- #4 Steve Luke PIN vs. Alex Picazo
184 -- #2 Tyrel Todd vs. No. 3 Mike Pucillo DEC
197 -- Eddie Phillips vs. John Weakley MAJ
Hwt -- Chad Bleske vs. No. 2 J.D. Bergman MAJ

Bold denotes a toss up; there are a lot of these and this could be a crazy match

Italics denote a match that I really don't know anything about... the could be tossups, could be blowouts, I really know nothing about those Michigan competitors.

I will probably draw criticism for picking Sponseller, but I really have faith that he can pull this off. His senior year of high school, he was ranked low in the top 10 in the country and faced the #1 ranked kid (Sean Nemec out of St. Ed). It was a close match for the first two periods. However, in the third period, Sponsellor blew the match open, taking Nemec to the mat 3 times. Nemec was just too tired after that. It's amazing that Colt had the tank to do that in high school. In college, kids are in better shape, but I still think Colt is one of the very best conditioned kids in the country.

Also, I can imagine criticism of the Jaggers pick at 141. To this, I say, Jaggers is definitely capable of doing this. He can beat anyone in the country, his only problem consistency. Is Russell the safer pick? Maybe, but what can I say, I'm rooting for Jaggers, so I'm willing him to win.

On a side note, I'm feeling a Weakley pin at 197 off a crazy throw, but I'm not brave enough to pick this.

Am I dreaming with these picks? Perhaps, but I can see all of these things happen, and this could be a huge win for the Bucks.

Until then, I remain giddy.

Triggas can definitely beat Watts. In fact, I'd be surprised if he didn't. The question is whether or not Lara gets the start as he has a history of giving Triggas a hard time.

Most intriguing matchup is 165. Tannenbaum will want to score early and ride Spoon into the ground. If he can, he'll win. But if Sponseller can get out, the pace favors him. Still, I see Tannenbaum as likely to eke out the victory in the first meeting between these two. After this match, however, I'll take Sponseller every time.

Time out. Nobody thinks Tann wins this match up?

I saw Tannenbaum up here against Stewart a couple weeks ago, and then I watched him against Illinois on the BTN. He lost to Stewart and had a hard time beating Smith-Bergsrund from Illinois. If he's at his best, he'll beat Sponseller. He may be the best 165-lb on his feet. I hope he wrestles like the three-time All-American he is.
But going back to my picks, I had to give OSU at least one from 41, 49, 65 & 84. It was either 65 or 84, and the way Todd has been going it made more sense to see the upset at 65.

That's a heck of a dual. I also think the young Colt takes out Tann.
OSU also wins at 25,33,84 and closes the deal with bonus points from Bergman.
