He's just tired of the old routine that is so common on TheMat Forums. Come on over, you'll feel at home.

1. Use a Russian ref and bribe him heavily.
2. Spend your whole life working out harder, and with better coaching than Metcalf.

Based on this observation, the Caldwell match is looking less like a fluke and more like someone accidentally finding a weakness in Metcalf's style. I don't think this means that people can run around pinning him now but quality wrestlers might be able to press the action early and come up with something. With as tight and talented as 149 is any little thing can make the difference and I don't believe all the other top wrestlers would have gassed with a 7-3 lead. Some of them would probably have hung on for the win.
Maybe Metcalf isn't so good guarding his back because he has seldom spent any time in a vulnerable position. Wish I could say the same.

Amen Grappler, watching high quality wrestlers now I instantly realize things that I could have done to work on my weaknesses...

For some reason I felt like seven minutes went too quickly and I would press the pace in EVERY match I was in...certainly in hindsight I realize how that would have been a problem in some of the matches that I had now in highschool...played right in to some people's hands...I had what I believe to be good coaching from 6th grade on but no one ever specificially told me to consider looking at a superior wrestler and consider changing my tactics...I think deep down they all wanted to see me go after some of these other guys even though I am sure there were side bets as to how fast I would get myself in a compromising position.
