Aaron is head coach material because he has the energy to put in the administrative hours, the fired up enthusiasm to recruit, and the experience to run the athletic side of the program, as well as still get on the mat and lay a little beat down.
I'd agree with any order including these three. I think Larkin is one of the best technicians in the past 25 years in the NCAAs. His NCAA finishes go unnoticed by far too many. Saunders is just as solid and would be tough to rule out. Should be an interesting summer, I hope they don't rush it, and I doubt they will.

I agree w/ what Blue said. I like Eric, but sgallan is right about him when it comes to being a head coach. Townsend was great as an assistant, and would be best as an assistant. Aaron would be a great head coach, better than he was as an assistant. However, from what I hear, it's definitely Kevin Jackson's job to lose.

Jackson is definitely in place to step up and take the job.

Isn't he right in the area having picked up a job with Sunkist?

I have heard great things about Simpson as a coach as well. But now that he is in the UFC, would he be able to do both?

KJ probably is the best choice right now, but Larkin and Saunders are also class acts.

If you put any of the aforementioned together in some combination, I am sure they would make a great staff.

Glad to see Shawn Charles has remained out of this conversation, let's hope it stays that way!

I gotta figure He's in the conversation somewhere. With all these vacancies, I'm sure He could have some suitors.

If Simpson was offered the head job, he would take it in a heartbeat, even if it meant not being involved in MMA at all. However, that seems like it's a longshot at this point.

I'd give the Steiners a shot, they should of had it 8 years ago.

Agreed Trusty, but I don't think there's any way that an Iowa guy would get the job.
