Keddy topic kind of made me think about this. We're about half way through the season, long enough to start to judge the guys who are most improved from last season.
1. Dan Vallimont: This isn't the same guy that Dustin beat 15-4 last year. Whether its the move up, or just another year in the room with a bunch of quality guys, he's very much improved this year.
Even though it seems strange to mention a NCAA finalist on a most-improved list, Varner sure seems to have improved a lot. He obviously beat Kish in the semis, but I believed at the time that if Kish and Varner wrestled another ten matches, Kish would probably take seven or eight. I'm sorry to say that doesn't seem to be the case any more. And Varner did not seem close to Herbert last year, but the way that Varner countered Herbert's attacks at the Midlands was impressive.

i know it doesn't necessarily apply, but kellen russel coming right into college from high school and ranked in the top five is quite an improvement no matter what high school accolades you achieved
I will second Cyler Sanderson. He has got on another level this year. Of the matches I've seen, he has looked outstanding in all but 3. He looked slow against Kocher and Vallimont, and seemed to wear out against Hofsta at Duals, but other than that I have been extremely impressed.
