Default Iowa v. Ohio State, Iowa v. Penn State: Predictions/Discussion

Trusty...on Minnesota v. Nebraska

Iowa v. Ohio State
125: Falck dec Triggas
133: Slaton dec Humphrey
141: Jaggers dec Leclere
149: Metcalf dec Palmer
157: Morningstar dec Johnstone
165: Perry dec Sponseller
174: Borschel maj Picazo
184: Pucillo dec Keddy
197: Beatty dec Weakly
285: Bergman dec Fields

Comes out to 22-9 Iowa.

Falck could possibly major if he gets up on Triggas early, he seems to run up scores on guys when he does. Triggas dominated McKnight in a victory over the weekend, so an upset may be possible.

I just don't see what Humphrey can do to beat Slaton

If the match was in Iowa City I might have danced with the idea of taking Leclere in a mild upset

I think Metcalf will just have too much on his feet for Palmer, however I'll be interested to see if anything happens if Palmer gets on top

Morningstar just beats Johnstone

Even with the fact that I like Sponseller a lot and Perry has been beaten, and looked lackluster in some wins, I can't take him here until he does it.

Borschel has been very impressive this year

Pucillo should beat Keddy, although Keddy is much improved this year.

I don't really know about 197. Beatty is tough, but undersized, and Weakly is a big dude. If its Loera, Weakly probably wins.

Bergman just has too much for the gun shy Fields

v. Penn State
125: Falck dec
133: Slaton maj
141: Strayer or Scott dec Leclere
149: Metcalf dec
157: Vallimont dec
165: Perry maj
174: Borschel dec
184: Keddy dec
197: Davis fall
285: Fields dec

Iowa 23-12

Falck is just wrestling better in general than McKnight. Triggas rode McKnight for five minutes on Sunday.

Pretty much the same from Ohio State, don't see how Haas will have anything for Slaton.

Bout most likely I see going the other way. Strayer has been struggling a little bit, but I'll give him, or Scott the nod for now.

Short of getting him in a big move and sticking him I don't see Bubba beating Metcalf, gas tank differences is the big reason.

Vallimont is one of the most underrated guys in the country, he's been wrestling very well. Morningstar is still too one dimensional in my opinion.

Perry dominates from the top.

If Erwin shows up this will be a good match, if not, Borschel handily.

Battle of the Phil's, Iowa's Phil is better in general, and has been wrestling better.

Davis by fall either way.

Fields is favored, but if he doesn't show up Laboranti could pull the upset here.

Ohio State has a great team, should make for a good dual.
I will be looking forward to the matches at 33,41,49,65,84 and Heavy.
97 should be a barn burner

If both our Hawks are wrestling at 197, shouldn't one of them roll over so we can get the six?

If Metcalf and Perry both fall in the same dual, isn't that like the end of man-kind or something equivalent? Thanks for the laugh Whippet
