285: Massey fall Zabriskie 4:19
The night started off good, and closed crappily.
125: Match started out like Reader/Fay I. Clark TD, Cudd reversal, Clark reversal, Cudd reversal. Clark stayed in there and rode decently tough when he was on top and pulled out the win with riding time. Best win for him so far.
133: Fanthorpe was in control from the start, and was 1 second away from a major. He looked really good on his feet, just needs to get a little better on top.
141: Gallick did not look good tonight. He hit a sweet throw in the first but it was out of bounds. But the whole match he looked tired. I don't know if it was his weight or if it was anything, but he did not look like himself.
149: Mueller looked great against a lesser opponent. At the end he was broken and just walking into takedowns. Great job by Mueller to keep the pressure on. Side note: Mueller's intro music is Billy's Squire's "The Stroke", which, I don't know if I realized it before, but that's going to be my intramural softball intro music.
157: No doubt about it, I'm picking Cyler next time. He kept shooting his single, and every time they would get in the position where Cyler had Henning's foot by his head and was flat on the mat, and Henning was about doing the splits with his other leg behind Cyler. Four times this happened. Finally they got scrambling and Sanderson got towards his back and Henning scissored the head with no call (no TD had been called) then eventually he got back points counted (I still don't remember him giving the TD). Long story short, next time shoot a double. Afterwards, amidst a chorus of boos, Henning puts his hands up motioning at the crowd like a poor sport. Davis was pissed. Allen was pissed. Anyway, Cyler wins next time.
165: Jon Reader is not 40 but HE IS A MAN!!! I never get tired of watching him wrestle. Comes out, takes his guy to his back, gets the fall.
174: Scott continues to improve. He is wrestling more aggressive than I've ever seen him wrestle. He's got a nice throw-by takedown where when the other guy shoots, he lowers his level and throws them to the side and spins around for the TD. He hit it a couple times tonight.
184: Varner is intimidating. He just doesn't back down. He got after it and got 4 stalling points. Still would have got the major without them but he was just punishing on top. Just looked great from start to finish.
197: Bert went out and got after it right away, but he needs to start finishing these matches like he starts them. 197 has at least 10 real tough guys and he needs to start beating some of the guys he's ranked behind.
285: I thought Zabriskie would take it to Massey, but Massey got on top and there was no getting out. Just turned him and finished it. Not a good end to the night.
I'd say tonight was kind of like getting with a hot chick, then finding out from your friends that she only hooks up with nerds, which is why she got with you. It starts off good, and you think you're going to come out way up, but then ending just ruins it.
