Iowa #1 without a doubt. I am not a fan of Iowa and even less of a Brands fan, but the way they took it to everbody this weekend amkes them the clear cut #1 in my book. Ok State is #2 and then after that it is a mess.

They were pretty damn dominating against some tough competition. Yes, OSU beat them, but I don't think OSU would have had the weekend the Hawkeyes had if they would have manned up and shown up in Cedar Falls.

Agreed. You would certainly have to debate me much harder to convince me that OSU deserves the nod after this weekend.

The good news is that we at least have a sport where our top teams have mulitple times to face each other in the regular season and then we have a great system that can crown both a dual team champion (Iowa) and an ncaa champion.

I think Minnesota does this with Track and Field and they have both a True Team Championship and a Team Championship which often times have different winners. The True Team Championship really credits depth.

So OSU beats Iowa 1 week prior, same line up,and Iowa should be No. 1 ?

I don't think it'll fly. OSU will be No.1......for at least this week.

there aren't computers spitting this stuff out RYOU so I think coaches and writers are going to overlook what happened last week since they didn't put OSU ahead of Iowa then so why would they do it now?

OSU also lost to Penn State. So how do you take that into account. And then you have the fact that Iowa just ran through some really good teams at the toughest competition available. With the way things are, it's got to be Iowa.

Iowa (va. tech) University deserves to be a clear #1. They have the best two teams in the nation. I'm just kidding IA fans calm down they looked awesome this weekend.

I agree. My vote is Iowa #1 and OSU #2. Iowa winning the Midlands and the National Duals makes them #1 in my book. This really pains me because I loathe the Hawks. I am a Cyclone for Pete's sake.

Honestly -- I really need more information about OSU. They were not at the Midlands or the ND. Yes, they have a quality win over Iowa in a dual, but I don't think they would've won the ND this weekend. There is something just maddening about this Iowa team that smacks of Dan Gable and it ticks me off.

Iowa State is clearly out of the Top 5 so I'll keep my mouth shut for awhile!

Hi there. Another dumb newbie question. What does the (7) mean after Iowa and the (5) after OSU? The column heading says "(First)" but I still don't get it. Thanks for being so patient with me.
