Since they didn't show the Hofstra-Michigan match on the video feeds, I'm not sure if Mitch Smith got hurt in that match against Churella.

Before the Hofstra meet, Cyler looked pale...paler than usual and his lips looked blue. I'm thinking he may be under the weather. That would explain him gassing in the Hofstra match. Also, the mask is really hurting his peripheral vision, in the PSU match, he looked like he did the first period against Morningstar, where he couldn't react to the shots quick enough.
After Mueller won in OT the Hofstra kid chucked his headgear from the center of the mat and no point. I thought Koz got the team point for tossing his headgear, but he also wasn't shaking hands right away so I thought that might have done it. The ref called it right at the end of the match so I wouldn't think it would have been from a stall call.
More later.

My bad on the Koz point, I was just going off what I saw. Jon Reader: He's not 40 but HE'S A MAN!!! Majors Fay to avenge his first collegiate loss. Kid is amazingly flexible, even for a wrestler. After the whooping Perry laid on him at Midlands, I can't in good conscience say Reader will beat him, but it should be closer. Perry was on a roll at Midlands. (SIDE NOTE: Tannenbaum will beat Perry)
Bergman/Fox: After remembering that Z took Fox to OT at Midlands (and nearly had the TD twice!! AHH!!), I thought Bergman could beat him. Now that I saw them wrestle, I know Bergman can beat him. Bergman initiated most or all of the action, and if he gets a shot at the inside trip again, he will be able to hold up and not roll off Fox. So now ISU gets Northwestern, who I think we have a better shot at than Ohio State.

He dominated Fox last year at Midlands, ranked top 5 in the US Open freestyle rankings. He may be the best undergraduate at any weight this year. | | |

That being said, this is only Bergman's first year at heavy and if he decides to keep wrestling heavy after college and puts on another 30 lbs, I say he will be able to get past Dlagnev pretty regularly.

My Mood: Tournaments Joined: 0 Tournament Wins: 0 | Two Ways Minny Defeats Nebraska 125 Ness d Donahoe 3-0 Minny (It could happen)
133 Reiter d Jordan 6-0 Minny
141 Rivera md Mike Rowe 10-0 Minny
149 Burroughs md Mellmer 10-4 Minny (Could be 6 for NU)
157 C.P. d Oliver 13-4Minny (this will be at most a three point match, close)
165 Dwyer d Safratowich 13-7(could go to Minny as well, Saf going well)
174 Dretsch d Browne 16-7(Gabe wrestling well)
184 Kish d Jones 19-7Minny (Kish owns victories w Jones, still close)
197 Brester md Bronson 19-11 Minny(Bronson NEEDs to stay off of his back)
Hwt May d Malamura 19-14Minny (Could happen, we will see)
If Ness loses:
125 Donahoe d Ness 3-0 NU (toss-up as usual)
133 Reiter d Jordan 3-3 (Reiter's tank is full, looking good)
141 Rivera md Mike Rowe 7-3 Minny (gonna need bonus here)
149 Burroughs md Mellmer 7-7 Minny (could be six for NU)
157 C.P. d Oliver 10-7 (C.P. has to own this)
165 Saf d Dwyer 13-7 Minny
174 Dretsch d Browne 16-7 Minny
184 Kish d Jones 19-7 Minny
197 Brester md Bronson 19-11 Minny
Hwt May d Malamura 19-14 Minny
Sorry, you were right Golden, I was up to late trying to figure this out and my math was all wrong. That should have cleared it up.
Let me say this, with DS out, this is a TALL task for Minny and I think you have to favor Nebraska. We will see how J Rob can get his troops pumped up to wrestle. Bonus points will be scarce I am afraid. I do have to admit that the way that Iowa looked yesterday it may be all for naught.
I really like the way that Bronson and Malamura wrestled today. They showed alot of guts and have gone from looking like those weights would be giving up 6-12 every meet to possibly looking like they could even split in some duals. That will help out alot.
