Do you guys think Mike Roberts just gave hope to all those "lesser" 149 pounders?

I mean, one thing is for Gillespie to knock off Schlatter at NCAA semifinals. Another thing is for a guy like Roberts to knock Schlatter and everyone else off at Scuffle. Do you think everyone at 149 just got a shot of hope and will be gunning for top honors that much more?

149 is stacked and there has been much discussion on who is the best. I would say there are probably 6-8 guys based on the day that could win it come March. It's going to definately be interesting to see what will happen.

I'm a realist. A few months ago I would have thought maybe 2-3 people has a legitimate shot, however with the performances of some of the young guys no matter who you are you have to admit the pool has greatly expanded.

I'm a MN fan and love DS but his style just like his brothers opens him up to losing. In addition, Caldwell is completely unpredictable, O'Connor and Metcalf have looked good, Churella is Churella and a few other have beaten some of these guys as well. That and Lang has bumped up so that's another person that has to figure in. It's gonna be interesting all year and I would expect many changes in the top 3.

I still like DS in March if I had to bet my own money. Its one thing to throw out a comment like 6-8 guys could win this weight but if you had to make a bet that might be a whole different story.

Oh I still like Schlatter as well I'm just saying based on what we've seen so far this year realistically there are a number of guys who have a shot unlike years past where there were only a couple.
