I love watching the Iowa guys On Iowa doing well (Slaton, Leclere, Borschel) They remind me of their coach. However I never thought I would say it but I think Perry has a worst personality then Hendricks. Is there a more cocky wrestler out there?

This might be a little premature but I can't wait for the 2010 Ncaa's. ISU's 6 soph's and Iowa's 4. Then for ISU you add Carr jr, and Reader. I am also sure there will be more Brands clones (Moore, etc) HecK I might as well sell this years tickets. j/k

Anyone see the toss that Gavin put on Borschel in the finals yesterday...that was pretty sweet...Gavin also had Borschel on his back two other times for nearfall...

What was pretty cool about Borschel however is that he kept coming back and going after Gavin...he was deep in on Gavin's legs at least three times...Gavin is the new Askren this year though with his Gumby Escapes from his opponents shots...almost comical.

You can say that again!

He does have an aura of arrogance about him; no doubt. I don't understand how he's winning so easily as he appears to be undersized against many of the guys he's wrestling. Physically, the guy is not intimidating at all.

Regarding 2010 -- too early for me to think about. I keep forgetting about Carr, Jr. How's he doing in FD? Can he hold a candle to papa Carr?

I loved watching Nate wrestle back in the day. I remember one match with Scott Trizzino and when it was over, Trizzino (sp?) looked like he fell down an elevator shaft with a portable cement mixer. Blood and scratches all over the place. Nate couldn't ride worth a darn, but nobody had a faster take-down than Nate.

Carr is sitting out this year. He won a juco National title last year. I do not know how the whole redshirt thing works for Juco kids but I am guessing he will come in as a soph and not have a redshirt to use.

Must be.

Can't say I like Iowa as an Ohio State guy, but I do respect what Brands has done there. I hope coach Ryan will bring the same "Iowa" style to the Bucks.
Can't say I like the Buckeyes either, but with all that high school talent in Ohio, and with decent coaching, it should be a matter of time. Also wouldn't hurt either your team, or the sport as a whole, for the Buckeyes to get 6 or 7 thousand fans to cheer on the team on a regular basis. When the fans come out, the pressure on the team to attack amps up. No one wants to look like a wimp when your family and neighbors are watching.

I went to a couple of Ivy League meets last year, and we had more people coming out to my Junior High meets when I was a kid in Cedar Rapids than the Ivies get for Division 1 rivals.
