Default Question about Div. I and Div. II nationals

Is there ever a time when a Div. II wrestler can compete at the Div. I level? I was told that a Div. II wrestler who takes the championship at the nationals qualifies to compete at Div. II. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

Not sure what this means but I would like to know what kind of a cookie you are? My favorite is chocolate chip.

While D II and III champs once wrestled in the DI tournament, it was ended back in the late 80's. The only time DII's and I's shall meet are in a dual or other tournament, but never again in the NCAA DI championship.

DII and DIII champs wrestled at the DI nationals for years. Sometime in the mid 90s they stopped doing this. Reasons that I heard was to free up slots for more DI wrestlers at NCAAs and that DII and DIII guys do not have to meet the same academic standards as the DI guys.
Many feel that DI coaches did not like to see their guys losing to the lower division wrestlers. Carlton Haslerig from Pitt-Johnston won 3 DII & 3 DI titles.
