I'm a little late to this one, but having watched both Randleman and Weakley quite a bit, I can see what you mean about them being similar in some respects.
Randleman redshirted right out of high school which Weakley is not having the luxury of doing. So, pure comparisons are hard to make. However, I do see similarities in that they both have a fantastic double. Both rely on their strength and athleticism and are less technical than those who don't have those physical gifts.
Weakley is more prone to throw than Kevin ever was. I actually can't remember Kevin hitting very many throws aside from the random head and arm when a guy just walked into it. Usually he just blocked off with a really wide stance that made doubles pretty much impossible for his opponents and used his strength to push a guy out of position and then he'd blow through the guy with what's already been discribed as an amazingly powerful double.
I already think that Weakley is technically more advanced than Kevin at this stage of his career. He just needs to learn to set up his moves better, especially the laterals. The throws on
Dallas Herbst could be seen coming a mile away and as expected ended up with Weakley on his back. He'll learn though and as he matures I think he'll be as dangerous as anyone at 197 in a year or so.
