Thread: Iowa vs. Iowa State......can Iowa win without Perry?

I keep flip-flopping on the Morningstar/Sanderson match. It seems there are more than a few giving that one to Sanderson, but I'm not so sure. I think Sanderson can win that one, however, he will definitely have to bring his
    A-game. Morningstar is tenacious.....

I'm still nervous about this meet and I most likely won't be able to watch it. I get too tense and uptight, and I normally end up with a horrific head-ache.

I could easily see 133 or 157 going Iowa's way maybe 141 (if T-shirt wrestles for sure). Don't be surpised if Iowa gets bonus points at 149 & 174.

Even without Perry...I believe Iowa has a better shot at winning the dual this year than they did last year...How did that one turn out again??

    Should be a great meet!

    "too young and talented"?

being too young in a sport of kids 18-22 usually isn't considered a benefit, in fact its referred to as inexperience...last time i checked, being 22-23 is not old...that being said, ISU has "youthful exhuberence".

Iowa has Sophmores at 133, 141, 149, 157, 174, 184 and only two seniors. I guess they are old and average Sophmores.(sarcastic remark).

I know that you were just quoting him. Just pointing out that Iowa is a young and talented team as well.

Damn right they are. It seems like this is the YEAR of the young buck teams out there EXCEPT for Minnesota. Look at the talent at Okie State, Iowa State, Iowa and Nebraska just to name a few. Missouri is still young and pretty loaded as well.

Minny will be hard pressed after this year to stay in the Top three to five in 2009.

I think with or without Perry anything can happen with this rivalry, as it has shown many a time in past matchups.

I see it more like this:

125 Falck maj Kist 4-0 Iowa
133 Fanthorpe dec Slaton 4-3 Iowa
141 Gallick dec LeClere 6-4 ISU
149 Metcalf maj Mueller 8-6 Iowa
157 Sanderson dec Morningstar 9-8 ISU
165 Reader dec Kerr 12-8 ISU
    174 Borschel maj Scott 12-12
    184 Varner dec Keddy/Beatty 15 -12 ISU
    197 Bertilino dec. 18 -12 ISU
Hwt Zabriske dec Fields 21 - 12 ISU

Cant wait. See you all there.

I think Zabriskie has improved alot and will beat Feilds this year.
