You know what I am saying OG...Mike Thorn gets more pins in a year than Dustin and C.P., you can go out looking for a tech but if a pin presents itself, you should go after it. Thats all I am saying...I have been on here for 2.5 years and know one questions my loyalty to the maroon and gold...I am just saying that sometimes you need to recreate yourself...there is far to much video out there now on Dustin in regards to scouting and its time to add some wrinkles...

    1) ISU
    2) Minny
    3) Iowa

I just don't see OSU having that great of a lineup.

Fair enough. I guess I just don't see that happening. Whether he should or not, I dunno. It certainly wouldn't hurt though.

And again, I love Dustin's style but if you aren't going to try new things against lesser opponents then when WOULD you try them? I am not blaming yesterday on Dustin. I could go through the line-up and probably give some sort of opinion on what I would like to see from some of these guys I have seen in the program the last three years. Obviously I am not a coach and the guys in the room know a lot more about their guys then I do but I think its pretty obvious that in yesterday's meet in hindsight we had a few matches where the bonus points could come from and we only got them in 1 out of 3 matches...that being said, the Gophers have said from Day 1 that their goal is a National Championship, not necessarily a National Duals Championship...in addition J. Rob has basically given his seniors permission to go after Individual Championships this year which certainly could be changing the way that they are approaching matches and practice. I don't know how this works as I have never had to prepare at the beginning of the season in order to peak at the end. My assumption is that they are working to get them in shape over time and to make sure that that the weight is coming off the right way over time so that they are not trying to pull weight at the end. I would also hope that for guys like Kish and C.P. they are going to start working on some skills that will help them against some of their top opponents this year.

I like Gregor a lot, and he won that match in the terms that he was allowed, but read what I wrote again.

After he got that TD I think its been counted up that he backed out of bounds as few as 15, or as many as 25 or so times.

To be honest, I have not seen that match. All I heard was what I read about it.

I guess we're just in disagreement here, I don't consider Mitch Mueller a "lesser" opponent. Mueller is a quality wrestler that Dustin got after offensively from the feet and almost majored. Thats good for me.

    I hear you on this.

Dustin is going through a classic "guy to beat mentality". This is the same guy that smacked Espo by like 10 his freshman year. As the guy to beat, its smart to play perfect defense and take as few chances as possible. You will win 99% of your matches because you're the better wrestler.

However, you gotta love watching the guy from the other school of thought....who goes out there and says...."i'm going to wrestle and maybe i'll give up 5....but thats ok because I plan on scoring 15 points in my seven minutes". More of the "if we wrestle and get into 8 scrambles....i bet I atleast win 5 of the 8." Dustin is wrestling to win his one scramble.

Boy is undefeated this year. I and the rest of the country would just love to watch Dustin do work for 7 minutes.
I wish I could kick Matt Dragon in the balls. In his Dragonballz.

In Poeta's defense...... If you're wrestling a conservative match.....that ref needs to at least warn you for stalling before you even need to think about opening up. Up a takedown, I'd back out of bounds thirty times if the ref lets me.
