Why is it I'd rather lose to ISU than UI?
Is it just me or are most Gopher fans better able to stomach a defeat at the hands of Sanderson's Cyclones than Brands' Hokeyes?
Those of you who think you know it all really annoy those of us who actually do ;)

And another word: Revenge
The Clones didn't put a major whoop'in on your team for all those years like the Hawkeyes did. Familiarity breeds contempt, and the Hawks and Gophers tend to square off in every sport, every year.
If Cael's hard-working crew does to the Gophs what they did Sunday for a few more years, I'll bet your feelings will change a bit.
But when it comes to wrestling, ALL Iowa wrestling fans have a certain sense of entitlement.
And then there's Oklahoma and those Cowboys ...

Re: Why is it I'd rather lose to ISU than UI?
I would agree. An Iowa loss, like an OSU loss just sticks in your craw. I think it has to do with the personas of the coaches and their fans. I have seen nothing but class displayed by ISU fans here on this website to date. I would go so far as to say that about IU and OSU fans HERE on this website but other places, IU and OSU class isn't as prevalent.

Plus, ISU reminds me a little bit of Minnesota so I actually pull for them when I am not wrestling them.

Isn't the overall record against us like 42-13? Thats putting it to us. That win yesterday really made me dislike ISU they were so boring and just sat on the edge of the mat. I really think you can count how many shots their team took on both hands

For the same reason I'd rather lose to anyone but kU, the Packers or the Cardinals... your rival is your rival.

Are you saying Wiltz isn't classy? He's put up with a little abuse, and he seems to keep smiling. GG's a pretty classy guy, too. I haven't witnessed much bravado and posturing from either of them. You must be talking about the other Hawkeye fans. They must have felt unwelcome and left. I wonder why?
But I think Cael's a good guy, and I can see why he inspires such hard work and loyalty. And he's done a great job of coaching so far as well.

Actually, he specifically said that Iowa and OSU fans that post on this site show class.
