Default Perry-Brown match on YouTube

I can't view it on the computer I'm on so I haven't seen it yet. I apologize in advance, then laugh, if it's not the match.

Perry has a mean guillotine...

He didn't look good that match at all, didn't really move his feet, looked like he was just trying to slop through everything. It'll be interesting to see how he adjusts to being the hunted guy every week, and not being one of the hunters.

I was no real fan of JH, but last year especially, despite the fact that he wound up not winning it all, during the season he was wrestling tough guys week in and week out, and always found a way to some how win.

Thanks for the link. It didn't show the DQ I don't think.

I cannot understand how Brown was not called for stalling.

Brown scored 12 points, how in the world would he be called for stalling? Or do you mean Perry?

Go to somewhere between 3:30 left and the big chokes at the end of the match, or really at anytime while they are both neutral, and you can see that Brown is constantly backing up. I do not consider head-tapping and moving backwards to be wrestling.

Not saying that it was not a pretty good strategy -- Perry tried to force things and wound up on his back.

Perry Looked horrible, just like a wrestler that got up early to swaet off 7-8 lbs of water before weighins. Sloppy doesn't describe how poor he looks here, light years from his title bout with JH.

That vid seemed to cut out well before 12 points were put on the board, 8 tops and the last 4 are questionable.

I agree I only saw 8 potential points with the BP being iffy, I guess if you add a penalty point and art point thats 10, maybe what it was is Perry got a penalty point for both of the choks and brown got 3 on the last TD? THe ref might have called the td but perry held the choke in thus resulting in backpoints and a penalty point

So 2+2 for the first td, 1 penalty in the 2nd, 2+3 in the 3rd and a penalty add ridging time and that would be 12.

Isnt there a rule where if you get called for something in a nearfall situation you automatically give up 3 nearfall? Like if you get hurt or something and you're on your back they'll stop it but award 3, maybe the same thing applies to misconduct like perrys so even though brown didnt hold him on his back for 5 seconds the ref started counting saw the choke and blew the whistle then awarding 3 and a penalty point.

If the score really was 12-1 that seems like the most plausible scenario, and it would help to explain why Perry got so frustrated with the ref, if it had just been a warning I dont know if he would have made as big a deal of it.

Either way I dont understand how this match got out of the 2nd that was a blatant and obvious choke and he held it for about 8 seconds after the ref blew the whistle, Babalu got kicked out of the UFC for pulling that shit and thats a sport that ENCOURAGES submissions. Perry should have been booted off the mat that right away.

FWIW - Perry did not appear to be ready to wrestle and appeared (as in the Moza Fay match at Kaufman-Brand) to be working for the big move. That being said - not a particularly well officiated match, either.

Before you jump all over me - Perry was beaten in this match!

Anybody heard of Jon Reader from IA State? Two weeks and he will be wrestling Perry in Ames. One hell of a RS Freshman ranked 7th in the country. If you get a chance do some research on him, I think Perry is going to have his hands full.
