Flop, I get the Pennsylvania reference and it should make a difference. I just didn't like what I saw in his matches and interviews. Like I said, just a gut feeling.
I get it, but think saying your "gut" on a 17 year old without any knowledge of him speaks more to your character than his. JMHO of course.

So you're not allowed to have an opinion about a 17 year old? At what age is it allowable to form an opinion about someone?

calling a 17 year old a prick without ANY knowledge of the truthfulness of that characterization speaks to the maturity level of the poster. You don't agree? Do you walk up to random kids and call them pricks? Do you walk up to anybody and call them pricks? Then don't be in such a hurry to do so anonymously either.

I think I'm with Tucker here..

Also, if he's a prick or an angel, I don't see how that correlates to being a bust or a successful wrestler. Plenty of "jerks" get on the top of the podium.

Look at Cary Kolat and Damion Hahn, two of the best HS wrestlers ever, who also had a ton of hype, and although they both were national champs there still seems to be a feeling that they did not fuflfill expectations
And Hahn got his 2? Nothing wrong with THAT career.

we discussed not to long ago the merits of big time recruits from non-wrestling states. Eric Grajales was a name brought up. I would explain my reasoning why I think he is struggling but I don't want to open up that can of worms again haha. In terms of Greco hurting his career, I doubt it, but he has always been a Greco and throws type of guy. Him, little Mango, and Thiekle have always been considered American Greco's future stars

Grajales competing in Greco would be a perfect fit for me as a viewer. I don't enjoy his style, and I haven't watched greco since Karelin lost.

He had victories (I am pretty sure it was two) over NCAA champs when he was in HS. A feat like this leads to huge expectations.
Reread the part that said they had a great careers but failed to live up to some people's expectations.

I don't get the vibe that he will take direction well. I also don't get the vibe that he will take any sort of failure well. Those are things that I also don't think Grajales did well. Like I said, I'm basing it off of things I've seen on flo. I thought this question was asked to everyone. I had no idea I had to spend a week getting to know them before I gave my opinion. But I stand by my opinion. Time will tell if he proves me wrong.
