Thread: Missouri v. Hofstra

    Default Missouri v. Hofstra

Probably the marquee dual of the weekend, should be quite a few interesting match ups here.

    125: Tomasette v. Olanowski
    133: Ruggirello v. McCormick
    141: Griffin v. Saxton
149: PJ Gillespie or Smith v. Primus or Wagner
    157: Bowman v. Chandler
    165: Patrovich v. Marable
    174: Lucas v. Garrity
    184: Siciliano v. Jordan
    197: Rovelli v. Askren
    285: ??? v. Ellis

133, 157, 165, and 197 should all be decently interesting, I think Ruggirello has a shot depending on how much he's improved to pull the upset at 133. 157, and 165 are pretty near toss ups, but Mizzou is probably favored in both of them. Askren should be pretty solidly favored at 197, but Rovelli is tough, and could knock him off if Askren doesn't come to the party.

Call the final score something like 20-13 or so for Missouri. If its close I think Askren, and then Ellis against Hofstra's typical gaping hole at heavy pull it out for the Tigers.

its a good thing Ellis gets a gaping hole to wrestle because I was less than impressed with him when i watched him wrestle about four times last year...

he is not the closer that a team like that needs in my opinion...

Tony Pescaglia will go at 125. Tomasette is clearly the favorite.
McCormick has shown he can lose during the season. Would be nice to get a good win under his belt before taking on Scott at the All-star.
Don't think Saxton will go at 141. Probably Marcus Hoehn.
Not sure if Wagner will wrestle, true frosh Rudy Galarza may fill in.
Chandler or Emmanuel Brooks toss-up with Bonilla-Bowman.
    Marable will school Patrovich.
James Williamson at 174 will have a tough time with Lucas.
    Jordan by fall.
    Askren bonus pts.
Ellis bonus pts. Ellis has put on 20lbs of muscle and is all the closer we need.

Marable is a tough kid, but I kind of doubt there are many at that weight class save for Perry, or Tann that would "school" a kid like Patrovich.

Sorry, I disagree. Ellis is a fat little dough boy and will take his share of lumps again this year. Only because its a really weak year this year at that weight does he show up in rankings...

Way to go Ellis! Not too shabby for a fat little doughboy! "All the closer we need!"

McCormick gets stuck, Askren loses, yet we still pull the win against a tough Hofstra team. Who would of thought?

Ruggirello is no joke, but my money's on McCormick come tourney time.

Max will bounce back, no worries.
