King?s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, hosts the Match of the Week on Saturday, November 10th. As the season gets further underway, more teams are starting to compete and the Monarch Invitational brings together schools from a number of conferences including the Metropolitan, Centennial, Empire, and Midwest. #19 Wilkes and #22 York will be the ranked teams in attendance, and All-Americans David Morgan (King?s), Trevor Hiffa (Oneonta), Kyle Flickinger (York), Felipe Queiroz (Wilkes) could all be competing. Ranked athletes may include Flickinger, Queiroz, Mike Gummerson (Centenary), Morgan, Matt Shank (Gettysburg), Justin Borowski (Wilkes), Dave Ballard (Oneonta), Hiffa, Luke Panizzi (York), and Joe Tartar (Muhlenberg)
Highlight weight classes include 125, where 2007 All-American Kyle Flickinger and 2006 All-American Felipe Queiroz could have a preview of the 2008 Metro finals. At 157, nationally ranked Justin Borowski is down from 165 last year and will have to deal with John Niedrich of York along with national qualifier and Ithaca Tournament champ Andrew Goldstein of Gettysburg and freshman Mike Bressler of Messiah, who won the Messiah Invitational last weekend. Finally, at 285, #2 Trevor Hiffa, #8 Luke Panizzi, and #10 Joe Tartar will slug it out for the championship.
