    Default National Duals Pick'em Contest

    National Duals Pick’em Contest
With National Duals now a huge component of college wrestling, I thought it would be fun to start an annual “National Duals Pick’em Contest”. This obviously wouldn’t be as elaborate as WhippetGrappler’s “Annual NCAA Pick’em Contest” since we are predicting between 8 teams instead of 330 individuals. If you have a better idea for the rules, I’m open to suggestions.
    Rules

    1. If you pick the winning team in a dual, you are awarded 1 point.
    2. In the event of a tie (likely), the closest Finals score prediction wins.
      1. Subtract the difference of the True Finals Score (i.e. 20-15...5)
      2. Subtract the difference of the Predicted Finals Score (i.e. 24-11...13)
      3. Subtract the difference of the two (i.e. 13-5...8)

    3. In the event of a tie (less likely), the closest Consolation Finals score prediction wins (same formula).
    4. In the event of a tie (unlikely), the closest Semi-Finals score predictions wins (same formula).

    Here are my picks....

Four huge swing matches (133, 174, 197, 285) to decide the dual and the championship. I have each team taking two, but OSU finds a MD (Oliver, Dieringer, or Caldwell) and wins the National Duals Title.

Thanks for all the hard work in putting together the line-ups and rankings for each proposed match-up. I don't have time right now to make up my picks, but 2 quick comments:

    1. I think you may have confused the rankings at 197 #4 Hernandez of Wyoming with #14 Gonzalez of ILL
    2. If Missouri's Bradley does need a fall for Missouri to advance, will he go for it, knowing it means he would go up next against Z (who many feel Bradley ducked in the dual)? I've got to admit I can't believe a wrestler would intentionally not do all he can for his team to win a dual in the National Duals. . .but stranger things have happened.

You're right...my mistake, Gonzalez is ranked #14. Either way I have Rosholt losing, solely because I like to pick against him. Whether Rosholt wins or loses, OSU rolls to the semis. I can't imagine Bradley will try to avoid Z and not work for bonus points to get a team win. If McCormick or Hucke can hold off an MD or Porter or Haynes can pull an upset, Bradley may not even need bonus points. I just have a feeling he will need a TF or pin for Mizz to win and a TF seems unlikely. I'm also predicting a Houdashelt upset over Tessari to make the dual interesting.
