    Default National Duals Predictions

This Sunday should be a great day of wrestling as Penn State gets ready to host Rider in what should be......just kidding its National Duals time! Here are my predictions for each region.

    Cornell Region

Cornell Vs Hofstra: Going with the Big Red here. They won at Hofstra 30-15 a few weeks ago. Match was closer than the score showed due to a forfeit at HVY. Cornell should win 6 matches and claim enough bonus points to win somewhat comfortably.

Virginia Vs Nebraska: One of the best matchups of the first round. This match is 5-5 on paper. Barring an upset, this match will almost certainly come down to bonus points. Green, Kokesh, Ihnen, and Sueflohn all face ranked wrestlers, so they will have to work very hard for bonus. UVA's best shot at bonus is probably 125 or 133.
I think Snyder comes through for them and they will advance. I probably should have saved some dignity here and just flipped a coin, such a close matchup.

Cornell vs Virginia: Cornell is favored at 165 and 184. Virginia is favored at 133, 157, and 174. Dake pinned Sulzer last time they wrestled, if he can repeat that Cornell gets the bonus pts they need to win a close one.

    Kent State Region

Oklahoma St vs Kilgore: Even with a fall he can only manage 6 points, so I'm going with OK St in a landslide.

    UNI vs Wisconsin:
Good matchup between two up and coming teams. I think I'll go with UNI in a close one.

OK St Vs UNI: Panthers could win 2 or 3, but OK St won't be threatened.

    Oregon State Region

Oregon St Vs Michigan: Rematch of an earlier season bout won by the Wolverines 22-19. Camryn Jackson had a huge upset over Mangrum in the first matchup, but it does not look like he will be competing this time, so that will be a be a big opportunity for Oregon St to swing points in their favor. I have Oregon St winning by 7-10.

Virginia Tech Vs Oklahoma: Another rematch here, VT beat OK 22-19. Score was 22-13 going into the final bout, when Oklahoma's Hall pinned VT's Marone. VT is the better team here and should advance fairly easily.

VT vs Oregon St: Should be a great matchup between two hot teams, my gut is telling me Va Tech pulls it out.

    Missouri Region

Missouri Vs Maryland: The Terps might win 2 or 3 weights but Mizzou's overall depth will easily carry them to the next round.

Purdue Vs Wyoming: Not very familiar with either team, but from what I know, I like the Boilermakers to move on.

Missouri Vs Purdue: The Tigers beat Purdue pretty handily earlier in the year. I don't see where Purdue can change enough outcomes from their previous matchup to affect the final result here.

I laughed pretty hard at Oklahoma St vs. Kilgore
My name's Louden, Louden Swain. Last week I turned 18. I wasn't ready for it. I haven't done anything yet. So I made this deal with myself. This is the year I make my mark.

I was surprised that TOM had WI over UNI. I side with you that UNI wins this dual.
    UNI Panthers...Because it's just right.

The Oregon St Region is the most interesting with the most balance among the teams. I also like Va Tech to win it. I remember Va Tech upsetting OSU a couple of years ago at the National Duals--they tend to do better in duals than tournaments.

I'm picking UVA over Cornell. Cornell has the biggest horses, but I think UVa's fairly balanced line-up pulls it out.

I wouldn't be surprised by that at all, they do have a tough, balanced lineup.
