PSU vs Iowa Dual

Coming up this Friday this looks to be a very close dual as I think the match-ups work in Iowa's favor. I'm picking it to go 5:5 in bouts with bonus deciding it. 174 will obviously be the most crucial match-up. Here are my picks, what are yours?

Looks like the swing matches are 125 and 174 as long as everyone holds serve/makes the match. Iowa needs to hold on at 125 and pick up the big win at 174.

There is obviously a chance for Nico to win but color me extremely skeptical that it will happen. Nico has only wrestled a few good opponents and hasn't destroyed any of them. Lets not forget he also lost to Anthony Zanetta. Teching a bunch of absolute nobodies doesn't mean he is drastically improved from where he ended last year. I'll let you know what I think about the Brown vs Evans match after Brown wrestles Kokesh.

Conaway has impressed me lately and I think he might be able to hold Ramos to a decision. Evans looked pretty good in that loss against Storely and Brown was a little too sloppy in his loss against Kokesh today, so with the Iowa crowd behind him, I think Evans finds a way to beat Brown. Either way it's probably a coin toss and the winner of this match probably wins the dual for their team.

Don't know what was wrong with Andrew Alton today, but if he doesn't wrestle better, a decision against Kelly is no gimme, but he could also get bonus points. I think Penn State has a chance to pick up some upsets at 125, 157, and HWT too. There's also a decent chance Q pins Burak.

Pretty much how I see it too. Not sure Conaway will hold off Ramos, he's a machine and won't run out of gas like Graff did, I see a major there. And I agree that Evans looked good against Storely; I see him taking that match and the dual meet with it. I hope Brown proves me wrong though.

Definitely think Evans gets the win over Brown. I also don't think Taylor tech falls Moore. Evans and Moore have really been looking good. So in summary, I'm seeing Iowa winning another close one.

125: McDonough Dec Megaludis 3-0 Iowa. So very tempting to pick Mega here, but I think McD will squeak one out.
133: Ramon MDec Conaway 7-0 Iowa. Ramos is better in just about every category, and equal in gas tank, Ramos wins handily.
141: Ballweg Dec Pearsall 10-0 Iowa. Ballweg is looking really good this year, but I think Pearsall keeps it close.
149: Alton Dec Kelly 10-3 Iowa. With Alton on the mat a fall is certainly possible, but I think Kelly avoids that and keeps it to a decision.
157: St. John Dec Alton 13-3 Iowa. DSJ should beat Alton in a close match, both matches went to SV last year.
165: Taylor MDec Moore 13-7 Iowa. Litmus test for Moore. I don't think he'll be competitive, but a loss to DT by major is nothing to be ashamed of.
174: Evans Dec Brown 16-7 Iowa. Should be a brutal match, but I think Evans mat skills are > than Browns relentlessness.
184: Ruth TF Lofthouse 16-12 Iowa. Ruth is on a tear right now, he seems untouchable.
197: Wright Dec Burak 16-15 Iowa. Burak is wrestling very tough, I think he can keep this close. A fall is always possible when Wright's on the mat though.
285: Telford Dec Gingrich 19-15 Iowa. Gotta go with the experienced guy here. Gingrich could make one heck of a statement with a win here though, great pressure opportunity for him.

If PSU gets some more bonus points out of their studs, or even one minor upset they can easily win this dual, but I'm putting Iowa as a slight favorite. They rarely disappoint at CHA.

This would pretty much be my exact analysis. I think Taylor teching Moore is a coin flip, and I say that not because I lack confidence in Moore but because that is how damn good Taylor is. Moore is looking like a R12 type guy to me and Taylor is still going to absolutely take him apart.
