14-2 last year starting at 133 until he was injured and he didn't get back into the lineup.

Yeah I know. He lost to Nick Soto, and beat really nobody that year aside from his teammate. Again, why should I be surprised if he loses to the Triggas' of the world? He beats the 15-20 guys, but he really hasn't notched a great win even though he's had opportunities.

I think its a fair question...that being said how do Thorn and Triggas come out of a match 6-4, those two are freestyle animals. I expected a pin one way or the other.

Triggas really impressed me against McDonough, he's no joke, definite AA potential. I expect Thorn to make a big splash come Big 10 and NCAA time. I kind a like Thorn's style. Nothing like I wrestled, but explosive and fun to watch.

Watched the match last night. Triggas has a nasty single leg counter and defense that he used to "takedown" Thorn with. Both these guys are really fun to watch. Thorn seemed to figure it out in the second and third periods when he started scoring. If Thorn can figure out how to keep Triggas off his ankles after he shoots he'll win the next match.

Ness is a maniac. He let Paddock completely lock up a nearside cradle, and it appeared he did it as a ruse just to get a reversal. Ballsiest thing I've ever seen........and it worked! He also went to his back 4 times while trying to throw Paddock. 3 times it worked. The guy is a freak of nature. I can't imagine how he learned to wrestle like that, but it sure is fun to watch!

Your assessment of Thorn reminds me of your mid-season opinion of Ness last year.

Andrew Long (Penn State) Dec David Thorn 7-5 SV
David Thorn Dec Ian Paddock (Ohio State) 8-2
Tony Ramos (Iowa) Dec David Thorn 7-5 SV
David Thorn Dec Christian Cullinan (Central Michigan) 5-4
David Thorn Dec Chris Dardanes (Minnesota) 2-1 TB

All at 133 which suggests potential for big things at 125. It's too early in the season to tell. Let's see how Thorn adjusts to the weight cut.
"He beat nobodies..Thorn at 133 won't be great, R12 or worse imo...
    I just don't see it...David Thorn is not elite. I don't think he'll place"

I think that Thorn will be fine at 125, but any gopher insiders know if the cut is killing him this year? Was 133 really a cut for him last year? Seems that early this season the cut may be affecting his wrestling slightly, but I dont know that for sure. Come B1Gs we will know a lot more about where he is at, and if he is a serious threat.

Also, Triggas is already an AA, and he has the skills. Before, he was a small 125, but seems to have grown into the weight nicely. Im not saying he will AA, but he is at least a round of 12 type guy.
