Tournaments Joined: 4 Tournament Wins: 0 | Bison Open Wrestling Tournament Results, Brackets So besides Minny dominating the tourny, like they have for years. There are a few interesting early season match ups.
25-Gardner and Ness, last years 1-0 loss is what didn't get Ness his NCAA 3rd seed that everyone(Minny fans) thought he should get. What will happens this year? It might not be too much of a challenge (Bucky's guys are still in Party mode) but Ness should meet NDSU Hoffman in the semis. Could be ok??
33-Reiter champ over NDSU Sanders
41-Manny champ over NDSU Mooney
49-DS champ-no comp
57-Another good match up with 2 top 10 guys, CP and Zupancic, last year CP won it 3-0, should be a good one.
65-Should be a wrestle-off match...Glasser likes the live action and will be too much for last years starter, Saf.
74-Feist and Dretsch, I'll take the Stanford guy.**forgot about Sitch, he knocks off the Stanford kid in the semis then takes his elder gopher out in the finals.
84-Kish champ-no comp, maybe Sonny?
97-Bryce gets NDSU their lone champ.
285-My darkhorse-Laber from Mary wins the title.
Besides you guys hounding me for my 285 pick...thoughts?

I'll definitely be interested to see the Gardner v. Ness result, probably the most out of any in this tourney. With it being a six minute match without riding time it still won't tell us a ton, but I'd certainly like to see Jayson get a little bit of revenge for last year.

Leave that poor guy alone, you wankers.

Well he could make the finals and then pull a med default, then his arms would still be ok for the evening festivities

I would give Homer a room if he went 184 though.

The best part about this tourney is to see how the new gophers match up.
I can't wait to see:
125 Ness - Sanders
165 Glasser - Safratowich
174 Sitch - Kuhlman - Dretsch
184 Yohn - Kish
197 Eidy - Malamura
Hwt Nord - Berhow
and to see if Thorn, Matousek and Line have progressed.
This is a great tourney to kick off the season. It's a chance for us fans to put names to faces for the new guys.
My only gripe is that sometimes they wear their own singlets and I miss some of the early round matches.

Besides you guys hounding me for my 285 pick...thoughts? | i am bummed that ness and garder aren't going to wrestle here...i would have virtually assured you all that it would not end 1-0...i see the next match between ness and gardner being closer to 7-5...ness has learned that he rarely wins low scoring affairs...when he presses the action HE is the favorite in ANY match this year...
