You can come down hard on kids without kicking them to curb and still be "zero tolerance". The two arent mutually exclusive.

Thats what I think as well, but not sure about what the zero tolerance policy is. When the head coach was at ISU the first offense was 2 dual meets out. Thats more of what I expect in this situation.
Re: Alton boys to test Cael's zero tolerance policy
well to just kick them off the team for 1 incident is plain silly in my mind. Like Va said you can have punishment but that doesn't have to mean kicking them off the team. I think it is safe to say we all screw up once and awhile and certainly as high school/college kids.
Re: Alton boys to test Cael's zero tolerance policy
If they actually hit a girl, I'm down with some harsher punishment. Until that information is available. sit them down for a dual, or so. This seems pretty inconsequential.
Re: Alton boys to test Cael's zero tolerance policy
2 duals or the scuffle will be sufficient imo, unless they hit a girl. I doubt thats the case.

Is it the same thing as a "permanent suspension"?

Did Cael announce as zero tolerance policy for his whole team, or was it just for Long who had any cances?
Re: Alton boys to test Cael's zero tolerance policy
I don't know for sure what the zero tolerance policy is, but I know that 3 years ago when Steadman was at 197 he drank alcohol celebrating his 21st birthday and he was suspended for 2 matches.

That would be my expectation of this offense unless they physically harmed the female. Then, it should be a severe punishment. No excuses for that, but the facts need to come out first. Even if they did harm the female i would bet almost anything we would still see them at the B1Gs and NCAAs. Just sayin.....
