i don't know, i didn't have much faith in nickerson to begin with but that was before i knew him very well...i have become a fan despite your exhausting pimping of him...gillespie peaked at the right time and had a great tournament... Can Gillespie back it up with everyone aiming for him? I think Schlatter likes it this way although I am sure he isn't too thrilled about taking third last year.

Then C.P. will have to revenge the family name! Gilliespie isn't gonna take it at 157. My money is on Henning with C.P. and Poeta and he trading victories during the season again.

I first saw Nickerson at hs Sr. Nationals and was very impressed. Kolat, Mocco, Nickerson - were probably the best high school wrestlers I personally got to see wrestle. I expected TN to win at least 2 NCAAs. |

It really speaks to how good that 145 class was at Seniors in 05. Schlatter and Gillespie both already have titles and are 2x AA's as true Juniors, and then that Metcalf guy is about to make possibly the most anticipated varsity debut since probably Mocco.

But you can't be disappointed with the guys he's lost to at NCAAs - both won the weight. Although I didn't really like hearing him whine last year after losing to Donahoe, I think he has grown up in the past 2 years and will be the man to beat at 125. Ness has a great shot to make a lot of noise and definitely rack up a lot of pins but I think Nickerdoodles is gonna be too good for him.

disagree...ness is making that weight with relative ease, nickerson still has back problems in my opinion and is really going to feel the weight cutting this year...i think you will see alot of consistency from ness and some ups and downs with nicks

I actually Can See Gillispie winning 157 although I don't think that he will. I say this because he's not a wrestler that relies heavily on his strength. Usually wrestlers who do, don't fair as well at a higher weight class. He's more of wrestler to rely on Speed, quickness and technique. As long as the extra 8 pounds don't slow him down, I don't see him being any worse off at 157. Does that mean he'll win a National Championship? No, but change a move here or there, he could have easily finished 2nd or 3rd last year too.
