Dual Meet Comments -this may be as bad as it can get for ISU-1 match away from a shutout -Ramos wrestled (IMO) a stupid match as he went TD's with Meeks(the only think Meeks is good at ) instead of working him from top. KJ may not make it through the season.

Re: Iowa 32 ISU 3
I don't think Ramos wrestled a stupid match. He wrestled his match and dominated. It didnt matter to him what Meeks is good at. Tony showed him no respect and wrestled his own match. Meeks did get one takedown off of one of Tony's shots. Tony got a bit sloppy in that instance and Meeks was able to capitalize. Other than that it was a good match from Tony.
The dual as a whole was pretty pathetic as wrestling duals go. Iowa wrestled well, for the most part, but Iowa State did not hold up their end of the deal. They need a lot of help.

Re: Iowa 32 ISU 3
herk,
Jimmy conners (of tennis fame )once said he played to his opponents strengths as he thought he could break anyone -i guess Ramos took that approach.

I'm surprised with how easily Lofthouse handled Beard. Lofthouse must have grown into 184!

Don't let a certain someone hear you say that too loud.

The last period and a half Tony was taking Meeks down almost at will. It was a good strategy.

I am hearing rumblings that he may not.... The folks up in Ames aren't too happy with the staff right now.

Perhaps they should start with the Athletic Duh-rector...

Very well played.
KJ's staff's have all been bad. I won't go into specific people, except to say that I'm not including Reader or Nickerson in this. I think Jon does a good job and I havnt seen TNick enough. Take a look back at KJ's staffs and he's surrounded himself with less than exceptional coaches. It's fitting though, as he is proving to be less than exceptional as well. I really thought he was going to be good for them. Can't wait to see who they get next.
