If you read my interview with him from that time you would see that that statement is incorrect. He went over how he didn't physical problems but attitude problems. Then he goes over how he sorted them out in time.

In addition I am pretty confident that we will see Nico & Dylan in their respective quarterfinals & probably semi-finals as well come March.

Your confidence and a $.05 gets you a nickel. I wouldn't be that confident that they both reach the semis. But I hear what you are saying. Guess Mega is lucky Zanetta is redshirting?

it's not march gopher. i think sanders pretty much manhandled mega early last year too. not so much in march.

If either of you two wants to sig bet on Megaludis matching or improving his finish last year, I'll take any of those. there's a helluva lot further to fall from 2nd then go up. I think that's all were saying. I know it ain't March, if it were, your boy Megaludis would have his hands full in wrestle-backs.

Dylan Alton may not even be the 3rd best 157 in the Big Ten, much less the country.

I'm not hating, I'm just agreeing that those are tough finishes to match.

I think Ness and Nelson for the Gophers are in the exact same position. I wouldn't bet those 2 to match their performances this year either. That's just a silly bet since there's a lot more room to fall then there is area to climb and plenty of competition at all of those weights.

They will both likely be AA but I feel safe in saying that neither will repeat last years cinderella runs. We can sig bet if you think DA will finish 3rd or higher
I would have to admit that I don't know how Megaludis and D Alton will do at NCAA's this year. They definitely had great NCAA's last year. But I'm not at all concerned by their NLO results or even D Alton's loss to Napoli. They both had good wins at the all-star meet over Delgado and Welch. There are lots of tough kids at every weight. But I know that Nico and Dylan are competitors and will definitely be in the mix in March. I certainly wouldn't want to bet against them finishing in the top 3.

Nico may not be the only one benefitting from Zanetta's RS. It was Zanetta who took out Waters the past 2 NCAA's in the championship bracket! BTW--Nico only beat Zanetta last season in OT in their dual. Don't see this year's result as alarmingly different.

Guys, I agree that Megaludis and Alton will both AA at NCAAs and could both be very high on the podium. I personally think both of them will finish slightly lower than they did last year and am fine with you disagreeing. I might have been jumping the gun a little when I tried to use an early season invite as justification for my gut feeling. They're not freshman anymore and national champion contenders shouldn't be losing those matches (even though it does happen and the competition was solid). Are these matches a flash in the pan, indicative of more losses to come or something entirely different altogether (some athletes peak better than others, weight cutting issues, sickness, minor injuries)? Who the hell knows, but come March we'll see who is right

Zanetta won when he got an escape in the 3rd period. I guess everyone forgets that last year in the dual with Pitt, Megaludis beat Zanetta 4-2 in SV. Zanetta was 29-6 last year, was a 3x NQ, & was a RD12 along with a win over Waters.

2 years ago Dake lost to Vinson & then to LeValley in the EIWA finals. Still won in March.
