Awesome job, for an awesome wrestler, and an awesome kid.

I'm really going to have to decide what to do when it comes to rooting for him though, he went to the bad guys.

The whole thing about this that does bother me, is not that the patience or anything, it's the fact most folks over at the other forum will blow this out of proportion.

The messages should be about Alex and his decision, not about forum people bickering.
It's not about any particular person in cases like this ... I had a father call me tonight nearly in tears because his son was going to college. That's what it's about, wrestling on the next level and getting an education.

The "drama" is amusing, but I didn't ask for any of it. I have a system that's set up to protect the recruit and the coach. Ego's a part of every job, but not when it comes to kids making decisions that will affect (or is it effect? blah) the rest of their lives.

Congrats to Alex on a sound college choice. All his options were great, but he chose what's good for him and it's about him, not about any forum or internet folk, myself included.

I just happen to know by coincidence a family member of a top recruit. For several months the family member has shared with me the anguish these kids go through in making this monumental decision. We dopes on the internet frequently make it worse. I know that I have posted things I wish I could retract.

They're still kids when they make these decisions and all we ought to do is wish them the best and look forward to seeing them on the national stage.

Best of luck to Alex - and to all of those other great kids who mistakenly decided not to be Hawkeyes.

A DE kid going to wrestle for Okie State. Great news. As far as anyone "breaking him", I would not bet too much on that one, but Deitchler is tough. Just don't think he is as good of a folk or Free wretsler as Alex is.

As far as the bickering on other forums, you have to understand the crap that I got from Bob Pruesse when he announced that Alex was going to Ohio St. I told him that it was not confirmed and he got his panties in a bunch and just put us all down for questioning him. they also bashed other wrestling writers for not getting the news. they are low lifes over on BillyT, but you are correct that it should be about Alex today.
