Eggum being groomed?

When Marty Morgan left to go train Lesnar I thought he was leaving for a few years knowing that he'd be back. He knew J. Rob wasn't going anywhere soon so he figured he'd go make some quick cash. I figured he'd come back at some point and the reins would be handed to him. It seems more and more to me that should J. Rob leave, that job will be going to Brandon Eggum. I see J. Rob giving Eggum the lead on most of the interviews such as this one and that says something.

Yeah, except it doesn't sound like J is thinking of retiring any time soon.

I don't know about that. I heard an interview he gave regarding this and Im thinking he's in his last 2-3 years.

BS: How much longer do you see yourself coaching?

JR: I don't know. I'm enjoying it. I don't want to put a time on it. As long as I'm enjoying it, I'm going to do it. I'm getting to the point there are other things in my life I want to do, too. Maybe I'll go into politics. I don't know if my wife will let me do it. I think I want to become active in what's going on in America. I want to do something. Sitting on the sidelines is the worst thing you can do.

If JRob only had 2-3 years left, you figure Russel wouldn't have left to coach at George Mason. Wouldn't he have been the next in line?

J's contracted through 2014. With his teams being in the title hunt I think it will be difficult for him to retire as long as he's healthy.

I don't think Russell, (who is one hell of a nice guy and the wrestlers love him) was ever going to be the Head Coach at University of Minnesota. He certainly had put in the time but the program I think would have needed a bigger name unfortunately. I think it was always going to be Marty Morgan until he left and then Eggum I just think has stayed loyal, earned the respect of the coaches and wrestlers and has really polished himself in regards to being in front of the media and fans to the point where I think its his if he waits. J. Rob is all about loyalty having been in the military. Its very possible someone comes up and nabs Eggum too but I think he has waited this long, whats a few more years. I think he gets paid pretty well and gets a pretty good cut of the wrestling camp $$$ as well for now.

What is Marty doing these days now that Brock is retired?
