Is Evans moving up an effort to make Iowa's line-up tougher, or is it simply that Evans can't make it down to 165 any longer? If it's the latter, what do Iowa fans think this does to their line-up? Make it stronger? Weaker? Or about the same overall? I guess you're switching a Moore for Lira. Sounds like Moore would be better than Lira, but Gambrall and Lofthouse may not be as tough up a weight (especially Lofthouse up 2 weights!).

My guess would be Gambrall to the bench.
I still have my doubts as to whether Lofthouse is an effective 184, he definitely isn't a 197.

I was referring to this post when I brought up the discussion/comparison of Dong and Winston not your picks.

Re: Vaisforlovers Thanksgiving NCAA Prediction Extravaganza!
I personally feel like a move like this can possibly hurt Iowa in duals but is probably neutral in tournaments if Evans feels like he can finish higher up on the podium for Iowa.
I think against a team like Minnesota it hurts bc I think Evans had a propensity to break a guy like Yohn in a dual other than his loss to Yohn in the dual rematch but Yohn probably has success against Moore. Evans is going to find Storley very frustrating to wrestle against bc I don't think he's going to be able to turn Storley and I just think Storley is better from his feet.
If that pushes Gambrall out and Lofthouse up, I think that's to Minnesotas advantage overall.

I don't know if this move is actually happening. I kinda hope it does. It would be nice to have Moore, Evans, Lofthouse, Burak and Telford in the back half of the lineup. I'm not really a big fan of Gambrall. The guy has no offense. I'm not exactly sure how he placed 3rd. I think he can be good if he just opened up, but it's painfully obvious that he won't so I hope he's the odd man out.

- Dustin Kilgore
- Quentin Wright
- Matt Wilps
- Micah Burak
- Brent Haynes
- Scott Schiller
- Blake Rosholt
- Mario Gonzalez
Killer is a man on a mission. Still gives up a lot of points for an elite guy, but I'm not seeing anyone who can match his pace for 7 minutes.
Quentin is money in March by and large, and I'd be surprised to see him outside of the top 2. I felt he is one of the only guys who could threaten Dustin. I think he will avenge his loss to Wilps next time around.
Wilps is a very sold guy in all positions. Very strong, physical, and pretty tough on top. I think he improves one notch from last years performance.
4 may be a bit high for Micah, but I think he 3-2's his way to a nice 4th place finish. He knows who he is and does a nice job wrestling within himself.
I've been on the Haynes bandwagon this year. He's got such great ability to put crazy scores up I think he puts it all together this season and winds up 5th. He's a scary match up for most guys.
Schiller at this point is more hype than anything, but I like what I have seen though it's against less than stellar competition. He's aggressive and looking to score, and I think that serves him well this season.
The sting of losing his starting spot to Cayle Byers has to still sting Rosholt and I think if he's healthy he places.
Mario had an awesome run last year and had a taste of success. This year he places for the Illini.

- Jarrod Trice
- Chad Hanke
- Adam Chalfant
- Mike McMullan
Z is the man. Stay healthy, and dominate. Nobody can touch you.
I believe Nelson has separated somewhat from the rest of the field, and expect him to have a better gameplan for his re-match with Z and expect the score to have tightened.
Dom looked good at the all star, and I think he'll do all he can to place high. I just don't see him having what it takes to pass Tony or Z.
Tough field for Bobby, but it sounds like he put the time in. If he can get a takedown on his feet, he'll be a tough out for anyone.
Jarrod Trice is boring, but he wins. That is all.
I like Hanke a lot. Never thought he'd ever be considered elite, then somehow made the WTT finals a few years ago, which was insane to me. He's the only heavyweight to have beaten Z that I'm aware of, so maybe I'm selling him a bit short.
Chalfant is a physical specimen in every sense of the word. Not going to find a much better athlete out there, and even though he wrestles for Indiana, I think he finds his way in the top 8.
McMullan is tough but struggles with consistency. I think he places, but this is a really tough field this year. Who knows, he could get hot again and crash the finals for all I know. But as for right now I'm not counting on it.
