Scott Winston just has never really been a really good college wrestler.
I wasnt necessarily comparing/pairing them. I think jesse is a much more gifted and dangerous wrestler. As i said the Winston pick was a feel good pick.

    165
    1. David Taylor
    2. Kyle Dake
    3. Tyler Caldwell
    4. Peter Yates
    5. Conrad Polz
    6. Bubby Graham
    7. Cody Yohn
    8. Taylor Massa

I've been on the record for ahwile I thought DT would get the better of Dake. The All Star match didn't convince me that I was completely wrong, although certainly for the time being I am. I always favor offense over defense and believe his offense won't be denied. Dake is awesome. I'm an idiot to doubt him. Let's accept that and move on.

Caldwell is a stud who is going to be over looked and under-rated until he beats one of the top 2. He could do it, but I won't predict it. I have really been impressed with Yates development at 165. This weight really really really drops off after Caldwell. Good for Pete, but he's not a threat to the top 3.

I like Conrads style and think he's in the right training situation to improve on his performance last year.
I really started running out of guys i really believe in for these last three. I like Bubby and Oklahoma. He's tough and has a great shot at winding up on the podium. Yohn is someone who I think is tough enough to place and has been for some time. If he manages his weight and stays active he'll do it.

Massa is someone who it is still too soon to tell, but I believe in his talent and Michigan wouldn't put him out there as a true freshman if they didn't think he'd perform. Of the bottom three I ranked, he has the most upside. His recent loss to Wilps lead me to be a little more conservative with his placement.

Mike Evans, who apparently was so unimpressed with 165 he is going up to 174 apparently, so he was not included in this weight.

    174
    1. Chris Perry
    2. Mike Evans
    3. Matt Brown
    4. Logan Storley
    5. Nick Heflin
    6. Jordan Blanton
    7. Josh Asper
    8. Jon Fausey

Perry has given me the impression he is locked in and ready to take this weight. He's a very smart and tactical wrestler, and I think that gives him a real edge over the field. He's not going to light up many score boards, but he will present problems for every guy in this field.

I like this move for Evans. Hopefully it influences his activity. I don't believe his leg attacks are up to par, and I think this gives him some trouble with a few of the guys. 2 is possibly too high I'm willing to concede.

I've really been super impressed with what I've seen of Brown so far. Very in your face, I think he's improved on his feet from what I saw of him last year. Strong, good tank, tough dude. I like him to have a nice NCAA tournament.

Logan is someone with definite potential to break into the top 3. I'd like to see more offense from him before I do that. I think he has a nice year. Heflin is someone I've perenially doubted, but he wins a lot of matches and beaten some good guys along the way. Honestly from 2-7 I think they are pretty interchangeable. I've never thought Blanton was all that great, but he has wound up on the podium two other times and has some legit wins.

As I said 2-7 in my mind are somewhat interchangeable, which means someone at 7 has a case to be higher. That's Asper. Not much to say. He's good and he will place this year barring something weird.

Fausey is someone who's been on my radar for a few years, and I think he winds up in the top 8.

    184
    1. Ed Ruth
    2. Robert Hamlin
    3. Steve Bosak
    4. Kevin Steinhaus
    5. Ben Bennett
    6. Josh Ihnen
    7. Ethen Lofthouse
    8. Ryan Loder

Ruth is the man, I've been trumpeting his greatness for awhile now. He screwed around with Hamlin after the first period and still won over a great wrestler. Cael has done a nice job of peaking his guys for NCAA's and I think Ruth widens the gap by NCAA's.

These last 3 years Hamlin has had tons of great wins. He has had the better of Bosak the last 2 years, and has done well with Quentin also. I think he's the clear number 2.

I caught some heat for my opinion of Steve Bosak. It's nothing personal. He's obviously a great wrestler and is very tactical. The fact is he's lost 4 out of 5 to Hamlin and Ruth is ahead of both of them. Some people only remember the NCAA tournament, but looking at the whole picture it's clear to me who the better guys are.

I like Steinhaus, he's the 184 lb version of Zach Sanders. Wrestles hard, but probably won't ever contend for a title. He has never beaten Bosak or Hamlin, so I don't see him winding up much higher than this. Ihnen is a tough guy who is solid everywhere. I would be surprised if he didn't wind up on the podium.

Ben Bennett will place 5th because he is good. That is all.

Who knows about Ethen. I think he's good, and I don't think he'd go up to 184 if he didnt think he'd be effective. Not going to set the world on fire here imo. Loder's someone who many people have been crazy high on for awhile. I've never been quite so enamored, though I respect the talent. Schwabby finds a way to get him on the podium.

No love for Ben Bennett? I can't see him not making AA.

Probably Moore ? Means 174 and 184 are moving up as well-that puts Lofthouse at 197 ? Gambrall to 184 from 174 ?
You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.
