I take a little different view on this. Personally, I think that if a tournament has all, or a high majority(75%), of Div 1 teams then it should be counted. If we are going to score the Purdue v Callumet match in which one match was actually wrestled with 9 forfeits, then my Top 20 guy beating an unranked Div 1 wrestler should count. The Lindenwood Open counted due to having more than 15 guys, and I agree that it should count, but with Mizzou having 9 guys ranked and Ok State having enough guys ranked, two out of 30 teams provided the 15 ranked guys. So in a 32 man bracket you may have two ranked guys and 30 non D-1 kids and it counts, but the Keystone or Navy Classic which has all D-1 kids does not count.

    Just my 2 cents...

Basically ,IMO, entering an non scored tournament is like pulling the handle on a slot machine -sometimes ..win and lose and the Lindenwood was the ROYAL jackpot as there were enough D1 guys to meet the criteria yet a REALLY bad ,HUGE field .I mean Oliver must have scored 40 points pinning D3 kids -yet that is the way the rule is and if one has a problem with said rule they should note it before the season begins .
However , we have changed which rankings we use to decide the 15 man rule each season . Perhaps a consensus of players should vote as Intermat was used 2 years ago and TOM/AWN this year and the year before that D!CW was utilized . Personally I favor D1CW yet have no say in the matter .
Perhaps the coaches poll should be the ultimate deciding factor ? Anyone in the top 33 (or however they rank) should count...

Harger and Northwestern's true freshman Malone at 125 had good tournies, this is going to be a pretty good team.

Do the coaches polls go out soon enough for some of these early year tournaments?

no-and therein lies the rub-we need to make a decision on which rankings to use . I prefer D1CW 's top 25 .

If you're paying close enough attention to point it out to me.

    This...

If I ever get feedback at the end of the year (or before a new year) about which tournaments to score it is always appreciated. It doesn't happen often though usually I just wind up having to pick based off the ones we did the year prior and any memory I have about which tournaments are good and which ones aren't.

We're not counting all tournaments, and we're not going to non on lockdown only 15 guys count either.
