Churella had one offensive move the entire match and it happened with 3 seconds left in the 2nd period. For the other 6:57 Hendricks was dictating the pace, controlling the ties, forcing the action, he was continuously getting in on Churella and putting him on the defensive. He was able to secure a number of takedowns and nearly had several others.

So yes if you take away the other 6:57 of the match and just focus on the last 3 seconds of the 2nd period Churella definitely dominated the match.

    Yup, it's quite a match.

Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

So since Rob Rohn was dominated most of his match against Lambrecht, should he not be an NCAA champ either?

No Rob Rohn should be an ncaa champ because he won the ncaas. Ryan Churella is not an ncaa champ because he did not win ncaas. Johnny Hendricks is an ncaa champ because he won ncaas.

This isnt based on what you think should have happened, or what you wanted to have happened. What did happen is that the referee made a judgement call and did not call a pin. Hendricks won and save for that near pin he dominated the match.

    Very profound.

However, It wasn't a judgement call, it was a pin, it met all the criteria of a pin. It's that simple. The match should have been ended.

No it was absolutely a judgement call, how you argue whether it was a judgement call or not is beyond me.

Bottom line Hendricks won and he earned the win by dominating Churella despite the near pin.

Also, you cite that he made the "choice" to let churella up, but that's not a difficult one to make when you realize the refs will not call a pin against you, and give you B.S. takedowns.
No I didn't forgot how the match went. I just think he would have won if he did not go the mat with Perry which was clearly Perry's strength. However, none of this matters, he made the wrong choice (IMO) and lost the match.

BTW, Rohn didi not get dominated for most of the match against Lambrecht.
Rohn got a TD in the 1st and was ahead until about half way through the 2nd when Lambrecht started turning him. Lambrecht was on the verge of a tech fall when it looked like he was about to turn Rohn at the start of the third.

So if you want to be technical, Rohn won the first, got dominated in the 2nd and then really dominated in the third. Not be nitpicky, but there is the perception that Rohn doesn't deserve his title and just hit one move and got lucky. He was 1-1 against Lambrecht that year and looked like he was going to pull out a close victory when Lambrecht started tilting him.

Was close to pulling out a victory in the first period? Rohn won, but getting beat by 12 or so going into the third certainly seems like getting dominated to me.
