Re: 25 Best Wrestlers 2000-2009: Full List Posted
Geez, no one (except JensenS) is ever a Rosholt fan. You know whom Rosholt reminds me of? That 84 kg guy who won the Olympics this year (Mindoshrivilli?). He gets tossed around most of the year and then wins when it counts (3 world medals + olympic title).
BTW 1 loss in 4 NCAA tournaments is pretty impressive, I donno how many guys- ever- have done better than 1-3-1-1.

Ryou,
Take a look at who is listed in the #5 spot, then come back and talk to me.

I think weight should be given to performance in the wrestler's senior year.
Senior year should be when they are at their peak, not winning then puts a taint on their accomplishments, exception is Letters who was clearly hurt at the end of his senior year.

Geez, why do I dislike this rank for Rosholt. I know, 3 titles, but geez, 20 losses. I just don't see him as being 6th best. Maybe too much on counting titles?
I protested Jensen's ranking of Rosholt on his last list as well. The only wrestler with more losses on the list in Hahn at #25 with 21.
Also surprising that Hahn had only eight pins.

how close was jaggers to making the cut?
Re: 25 Best Wrestlers 2000-2009: Full List Posted
He was on like that top 42 list that I provided in the other thread.
I think he was the third guy that I bounced off that list after Coleman Scott and Nate Gallick.
Re: 25 Best Wrestlers 2000-2009: Full List Posted
I can't find much to argue with. Good list. The one suggestion I might have is that TJ Williams's should get a 1st (NJCAA)*(I think he was anyway) rather than a DNW
*a subjective factor in his placing.

I used to joke that Rosholt was the worst 3 X NCAA champ of all time. Follow that up with Cael is the worst undefeated 4 x champ of all time (it's true!). 20 losses is too many to be that high though. If it's 25 best wrestlers.....it's not accurate. If it's Top 25 NCAA tournaments, he has a case. Rosholt lost as many matches as Gable lost in the NCAA tournament.
I'm also tempted to place Herbert above Greg Jones. Greg Jones went 2 and BBQ to Rashad Evans and someone else not that good. Herbert has more wins, more pins....and his 4 losses are against better opponents (minus Kharbush). The big selling point for me is that Herbert broke the NCAA record this year for most all time points scored at the NCAA tournament. Amazing that 3, 2, 1, 1 could make that happen.
Love Abas at #2.
