Makes sense. And, Evans decided not to try out for 174 (so that he wouldn't have to lose so much weight)? At one point it was conjectured that all 3 would try out for 174.

Contrary to popular opinion from some very zealous Iowa fans, as a collegiate wrestler (especially at 149) Kelly isn't that good.

I'm not making it through another season if I have to watch Kelly wrestle the entire thing. He is content with getting thrown all over the mat and doing nothing offensively. The most impressive performance of the night by FAR was Sammy Brooks. Fahler is a .500 level big ten wrestler and Brooks completely controlled that entire match. Lofthouse better bring his A game...

Apparently Rhaods hit a big move at the end of the match. Brands has used the word "ornery" when describing Rhoads. Whether it was a case of the cut for Kelly I'm not sure. I know he routinely gets the better of Rhoads in practice.

Brooks is going to be good. Fahler is solid and talented.
