    Some teams don't have the ability to keep entire recruiting classes on scholly for 5 years.

    Don't think that's the case, ya never know but it could be a factor.

    I know I am in a kinda similar situation where I could use a year to build my skills but I will only have money for 4 years so I just have to suck it up.

    Whether it applies here, I don't know, but that is a great point to keep in mind when talking about relative strengths of programs. If every program could use all the redshirts they wanted, I bet it would even the field in the top 20 rankings (though much less effect on the top 5).

    Imagine where wrestling would be if the NCAA boosted the number of scholarships allowed to 12 or 14. That might have to be a new thread.
