Taylor didn't take Dake down (and nobody did last year, I don't think, although he could have dropped a TD somewhere). I don't feel that great about Molinaro taking Dake down unless we're using time travel technology and senior Frank gets to wrestle freshman Dake, and taking the hypothetical to extremes, they are also magically at the same weight.

I agree with Zapp, Molinaro's high crotch was nearly unstoppable last year, but it wasn't the strongest weight. I think Dake's defense was even better than Frank's offense - the only way I see Frank getting points from neutral is if there has already been a stall call on Dake.

As for time travel, I like the idea of senior Frank over frosh Dake - but I prefer that call with the weight difference.

Against a guy named Jackson, no less.

A couple of things are of interest in the TD of Dake. First that it was Morse--the guy that took DT down 3 times in a dual (only to lose by TF!). Morse doesn't have a sterling record, but he's one of the few (if any) who can claim to have taken down both KD and DT. Secondly the TD came late in the match when Dake was looking tired. Others have commented how Dake looks tired late in matches but that even then his defense is still solid. I think it's in DT's favor to push the action more against Dake and seek to pull out some 3rd period TD's when he's tired. Just MO.

I freaking belly laugh every time I hear that.

Mike Evans quoted in the daily Iowan (or something similar) regarding Dake and Taylor:
But Evans said he’s ready to challenge them. He’s been watching their matches and keeping an eye on his competition since the Olympic wrestling trials in April.

And the Hawkeye said he thinks he can beat them.

“I saw a lot of typical college matches, 1-point wins, nobody expanding the gap,” Evans said. “I’m not impressed.”

What was he watching? Dake and Taylor haven't separated from each other, or from the rest of the field? I understand believing you can win any match, but this is just fantasy..
