Ok, I'll agree with that I guess. Maple definitely more dominant on the mat from both top and bottom, but Bj at least got in on some shots and Lester was never close to scoring.

So second most decisive win of the night
    Gold is an idiot.

Is it just because Maple was a somewhat significant favorite that we're talking about it this way?
If I recall correctly (its been a while) but wasn't his match in this event with Oliver last year one of those wasn't as close as the score indicated type matches as well?

Chamberlain I agree had the most dominating performance and I am willing to take sig bets on Taylor Dake in March....I've got Taylor, the smarter match wrestler won that match but I don't believe the better FOLKSTYLE wrestler won

I agree that 99.5% of the time that ends as a stalemate, but there were a couple things that I think led to the call:

As for the fan influence, I wasn't there, but I'm sure VA's comment about it influencing the ref probably played a factor - especially in an all star match.

    1. As VA pointed out, Delgado stopped. Completely and foolishly. Still, that normally would be a stalemate.
    2. I have never seen someone as flexible as Megaludis in that position. Most wrestlers (who typically have pretty good flexibility) can't get into that position. Because of Mega's flexibility, he was completely behind and entirely had both legs tied up. Most guys would get stuck in a less controlling position because they just can't leave a leg that far out. To me, it looked like Mega had complete control of both of Delgado's legs whereas Delgado had one of Mega's legs but he couldn't do anything with it and it didn't affect Mega's ability at all.

It honestly looked like Mega's entire foot was behind his own head. It must have been the camera angle but looked ridiculous.

I think it was really hard to tell in the video I seen of the match but it didn't appear to be 2 in my opinion. I will go with what Va said as I am sure he had a better look than I did.

Now I also agree that Dake & Taylor was really boring and actually thought it would be. Dake is such a great scrambler which I think DT is alittle nervous about which is why he didn't attempt more shots. Also I think Dake can slow Taylor down on top because he is really tough on top. I predict Dake will win this weight at NCAA's but it will be about like we seen last night. In my opinion Dake is a more complete wrestler than DT which is the difference right now. DT needs to work on bottom if he wants to beat Dake because I think Dake can ride him for 30 secs at will.

Agreed. If Taylor is content to go to rideouts, he better be content with 2nd as well.

Yeah, JO was cruising and ran out of gas big time....

As I recall the final score was 7-6 for JO--he was still getting used to being down at 133.

On the DT match, I agree that DT played into Dake's style and strategy. I think DT needs to push Dake more and wear him down. I think DT is in better condition than Dake and if he pushes the action enough (without getting reckless) he can control the 3rd period.

If DT attacks wrecklessly I can see him getting destroyed. It's a tough go for Taylor bc he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't right? I think he's got to pick his moment in the match and go, perhaps right at the point where there is a physical break between the 2 as Dake has a knack sometimes of coming out of breaks and scrambles with that little saunter and grin and that would be the time for Taylor to make his move.
