Any particular reason why you neglected to mention his ROOKIE SEASON, where ISU finished 3rd nationally, and ISU had three AA's?

TWO DOWN YEARS...send him to the door NOW, says America's foremost rasslin' analyst, Lost! LOL!
His rookie season he inherited Cael's team who had been recruited and coached by Cael for numerous years. He has yet to produce an AA that wasn't a returning placewinner of Cael's, other then Andrew Long, who was recruited and coached for his first year by Cael.

How many other coaches have taken a program that was consistently top 10 in the country and failed to even produce an AA?

Tom Brands year 3 as head coach? National Title. Cael Sanderson 3rd year as head coach? National title. John Smiths 3rd year as head coach? National title.

Kevin Jackson's 3rd year as head coach? Arguably the worst performance in school history.

But you're right Ban, they should give KJ another few years to run the program into the ground. I'm curious, if KJ manages one AA this year will you be impressed?

OK, so he "inherited" Cael's recruits, but did he run them into the ground and ruin their wrestling abilities in that season? Didn't appear so to me, which gets to another of my big pernts that oft gets forgotten: coaches don't wrestle the matches, the wrestlers do. Jackson certainly didn't hurt them, and Jackson won't be the one wrestling in the round of 12 in March either.

It's only been three years, with only two of those years being lackluster. I'd say it's a bit premature to get the ax out ofter three seasons, with one of those seasons being very good. Again, if Gadson is in the lineup, people will see a much tougher ISU this year than last year.

As just an interesting side note (I know you'll disagree, which is fine. At least there will be ONE more person not jumping on the bandwagon during the "better" years), UNI right now is described as an, "up and coming program." ISU is described as, a "dismal program in decline," yet, last year, ISU beat UNI.

    Perceptions are often deceiving...

The difference is that UNI has always been a cellar dweller, while ISU was, in the past, a perennial title contender. UNI's performance hasn't gotten any worse under Schwab

    Hey guys ,
I respect both of you and would really appreciate it if you could agree to disagree ? PLEASE ?
You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

Iowa State needs to show improvement, but are relatively young. The only seniors this year are Matt Gibson and Max Mayfield and Chris Spangler(altho his career is done); that is on the whole roster.
The lineup is starting to get experience and that should help
125 - Finch -RS Soph, backup Larson (true Frosh)
133 - Meeks - true Frosh, backup Terukina (true Soph)
141 - Goettl - RS Soph, backup G Moreno (True frosh)
    149 - Mayfield - RS Senior, backup ????
157 - Tr Weatherman - RS Junior, backup L Molina (RS Fresh)
    165 - M Moreno - RS Soph, backup L Weatherspoon (true Frosh)
174 - Ta Weatherman - RS Frosh and Mikey England (RS Soph) - one will challenge Moreno for 165 spot
    184 - B Beard - RS Junior, backup Christensen
197 - Gadsen - RS Soph, backup Cole Shafer (RS Junior??)
Hwt - Gibson - RS Senior, backup Swope (RS Frosh) - Quean Smith a true frosh is also in the room and might be our future hwt along with Scanlan

There is good depth being developed and some great battles in the room. I think the addition of Coach Beau (S&C Coach) is helping also.

Bottom line ISU is just terrible with KJ at the helm! He is not getting the recruits in fact you can say UNI (Schwabby) is taking better recruits than ISU. KJ isn't the right guy for the job and most fans understand this. Nobody is saying KJ is a bad person, but results are results and I don't see anything to prove he has earned more time. It doesn't help when he isn't getting blue chippers either like ISU was prior to KJ.

Just and FYI UNI hasn't ALWAYS been a cellar dweller. UNI is going to be a force to recken with shortly because Schwab is developing these kids which is noticeable.

Since when is beating UNI an appropriate measuring stick for Iowa State? ISU is one of the most storied programs in the history of the sport with more resources and better facilities than UNI. The only wrestlers KJ had success with were Cael's wrestlers originally. The further he gets from Cael, the worse he's done.
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.

We'll see. I've been in the UNI bidness for a lot of years now with a lot of promising years.
