20 teams...sad stuff. Back in my days we had close to 80 programs.
Can't see the NAIA being around much longer.

Hardly any respect for Northwestern College

Jordan Keckler ought to be ranked. He was 8th place last year. An All American, ought to be ranked in the top 8.

It's complete idiocy that Andrew Lundgren isn't ranked. He took a solid 7th last year, at the NAIA nationals.

Northwestern College is going to surprise a lot of people this year.

Southern OR is underrated. Barry Johnson will be coming off of redshirt this year and I believe he was an AA as a true freshman at 149. Adam Kinley will also be a force at 141, as well. I say SOU finishes at least top 5.

Also, I remember reading years ago about how NAIA schools were looking to add more college wrestling teams in the future. I think its just a matter of approaching the schools with a written out plan and how it could effect their school numbers in a positive manner. And wasn't Dana and Great Falls added recently?

I know OIT at one time had someone interested in funding a program but the AD was weary as they felt they had virtually no drawing power with SOU right down the block, so to speak.

I also read that Montana State-Bozeman may add in a couple of years as well.

I think NAIA is very unique as they not only provide a program, but get a huge turnout for kids.

And there are actually 33 NAIA programs.

Another thing, isn't OK. City going D1 soon?

That can also be another issue in some cases where schools have moved up divisioned and other schools just haven't stepped up to replace those teams.

Grandview College, an NAIA school in Des Moines, is reportedly going to add wrestling in the next year or two. I know of another NAIA college in Iowa that is at least considering reinstating wrestling.

wrastler118 - here's some very useless personal trivia - my oldest daughter went to Southern Oregon for a year before transferring back and graduating from Iowa. She loved it out there but her significant other at the time just got too homesick for flat ground (and all of his friends).

I've only driven through Ashland, but its in a nice area. Yeah, if you love flat ground, Western or Southern OR isn't for you. Eastern OR would've probably resembled home more. No trees, or hills for miles and nothing but sand and farmland.
