Minnesota may well have the most balanced line-up of any team in the nation. It's a shame that PSU and Minn don't wrestle this year. So, it's only hypothetical. Here's how I would call it:
125 Thorn vs Megaludis Dec PSU 3-0 PSU
133 Dardanes vs ?? Martelotti Dec Minn 3-3
141 Dardanes vs ?? Frey Dec Minn 6-3 Minn
149 Ness vs A Alton Dec PSU 6-6 This would be a crucial bout
157 Zilverberg?? vs D Alton Dec PSU 9-6 PSU
165 Yohn vs Taylor TF PSU 14-6 PSU
174 Storley vs Brown Dec Minn 14-9 PSU (since I gave 149 to PSU, I'll give this close one to Minn)
184 Steinhaus vs Ruth Dec PSU 17-9 PSU Steinhaus is awfully tough, but I wouldn't see him beating Ruth. Still would hold him to just a Dec.
197 Schilling vs Wright Dec PSU 20-9 PSU This isn't a lock in my mind as Wright has not always wresled his best in duals.
Hwt Nelson vs ??? Lawson Dec Minn 20-12 PSU
There are a lot of bouts that could possibly go either way--125, 149, 174, 184 (not too much doubt for me), 197 (a little doubt). But 149, 174 would be the best ones.
Minny doesnt match up well with psu this year wow.
Bonus points for the Dardanes (both attainable) and a win from Ness at 149 makes that match 17-17
On another board I heard some speculation (information?) that the B1G may pick certain teams that would always wrestle each other--like PSU, Iowa, Minny, tOSU (as an example) ALWAYS wrestling one another. I sure hope they do that.
One thing I should add on a PSU-Minn dual--Minn has been wrestling PSU tough, 1-0-1 in duals the past 2 years!
I just wish Tessari's win really happened, that way I could claim it was valid. Oh, wait a minute.......I am just now being told that it did, in fact, happen.
And even before you clarify whatever it is you're trying to say above let me say that I still fail to see what your obsession with Tessari's match with Ness has to do with this thread.
The win certainly paid off for Tessari when it came to their comparative performances over the rest of the year.
