He has a lot of growing up to do. During one match where his kid got taken down -- he didn't lose, he was just taken down -- Perry turned to the crowd and pointed to his heart while saying, "He's got no heart." You may think that, but a) giving up on your kid in the first period of a match and b) announcing that kid's shortcomings to the world are not what a mature, great coach would do. That wasn't the only tantrum that he threw from matside. I know that he was coached by people who don't exactly hide their emotions, but normally Brands & Co. just get into a match, or get mad at the refs. Even during Metcalf's loss, Brands just rocked back and forth like a demented person. Perry's actions looked plain out bad.

Perry pretty hilariously turned around and kicked a chair over during the Minnesota dual at National Duals too.

The guy has shown he can coach, but he definitely still has a maturation process to go through.

Given that he's only like 24 though chances are I think he manages to pull it off.

I think there are a lot of potential candidates to consider. I do not believe that PSU will hire an established head coach at a major school. That is not their MO in any sport. They tend to promote assistants with a good track record, and let them develop into head coaches. I would be surprised if that is not the approach this time.

having said that, I think the list of potential candidates is pretty good...starting with John Hughes, Jeremy Hunter, Josh Moore.

The only head coach that I think they would look at is Tim Flynn at Edinboro. Because of the facility upgrade, this would have to be considered an upgrade for him. Although the AD at Edinboro seems to like the sport...

Yeah, I would say that the presumption that Edinboro's AD is pretty fond of our little old sport is a pretty good one.
