metcalf backers should be encouraged. he actually did better this time out by not getting stuck as he did in the only other match between the two that counted. he's narrowing the gap between them. who knows? next year he might stay with him for a period or two.

I am a buckeye and was rooting for Metcalf, but he did beat Caldwell in a match. It doesn't count on records, but it is a match. It counts to me and the guys who wrestled. I don't think Metcalf backers are encouraged at all. He teched him earlier in the season. This is a huge turnaround. If I was affiliated with Iowa, I'd be pissed.
I know what you mean though. But Metclaf did beat Cladwell once.

    Oh the trolling.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

For 5 minutes. The lung timeouts and gymnastics were a little less beautiful.

    1) I don't know why he would need a lung timeout in a match he was dominating, had broken his opponent, and where it would be to his advantage to let the clock roll. Let's not forget Caldwell had just taken Metcalf down in the 3rd period when that injury timeout happen. Even if you consider that stalling, it didn't happen until there were 50 seconds left. So even by your count, it was still 6:10 of beauty--not 5.

    2) I thought the gymnastics were pretty impressive, too. Until, of course, they were ruined.

The gymnastics would have been most beautiful part if it wasnt rudely interrupted.

That was a fantastic list. I didn't always agree with everyone's placement on the list, but other than that, it was quality.

A bunch of guys have already been mentioned as possible adds to the list and I'd certainly include Bertin for this decade. His numbers speak for themselves, but when you think about the depth and quality of the weights that he competed at, that he and Percival were able to come out as 4x AA's is pretty amazing.

A little extra Juergens lobbying - he beat 2 guys on this list.
